About me:
Stephen D. Luke brings over 20 years of experience in the fields of education, psychology, neuropsychology, and sociology for several federal agencies, including the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Education. He presently serves as Director of the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NDC/NICHCY). In this role, Dr. Luke also collaborates with a nationwide network of leading researchers and practitioners in the field of education to promote scientifically-based research and practice and serves on such boards and advisory panels as the National High School Center and the Annenberg Institute for School Reform.
Dr Luke brings to this work an in-depth knowledge and experience in Web and communications technologies. His doctoral studies included a focus on the design and application of technology to support learning in educational contexts. He has received extensive theoretical and technical training at both Harvard and MIT's Media Lab and is well versed in usability and universal design principles. Most recently, he has overseen the design and development of NICHCY's state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, which is dramatically improving user experience and access to information and resources pertaining to the care and education of children with disabilities. Dr. Luke holds a Doctorate and Masters of Education from Harvard University, a Masters of Psychology from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
