I disagree on your agreeance with Polk's policies. He is honestly ridiculous for his independent treasury and lower tariffs.

Reading your journal, I am infuriated with many of your statements. Although, I should not vent and hate and will contain myself. I will simply state the few things I agreed with. I agree that I was unsure of John Tyler coming to accident presidency and how your husband, Jim Jones, says Tyler is not a Whig. Tyler was an obvious Democrat in Whig clothing. I also agree with your mention about the South could possibly be better off as a separate nation. I have taken this into consideration as well. But I do admit that I prefer Union over war. I am also cautious of Manifest Destiny, and I am shocked that you are as well! Well maybe I am way more than just "cautious". I was also pacifist to the Mexican War at FIRST, but that all changed and I began to completely denounce the war. I mainly agree something will come up between the North and South.
