I would not friend you, because I cannot see the merit behind your political principles. I would not support the annexation of ALL of Oregon and I am completely against your Proviso.

I do not believe that we should have been too greedy and try to get all of Oregon. Risking a war with Britain after our Mexican war would not have been good for our country's economics. I also oppose the Wilmot Proviso, seeing as Northerners always seize opportunities to rob us of our economic livelihoods.

I completely agree with your views on the Mexico war, considering I annexed Mexico in preparation for the war. I also support your low tariff views, considering I have no fondness for the protective tariff.
