Slide 1

Hi, My name is Ron Cohen and I’m going to talk to you today about the Creedia project, where you build and share your faith profile.

Slide 2

We are going to elaborate on the Creedia vision and understand what a faith profile is all about. We are going to cover the building block of Creedia, which includes Creeds, Interpretations and Opinions. Last we are going to discuss the project status.

Slide 3

Creedia is a free to use web service where people build and share their values, faith statements and beliefs, organized in a faith profile. As more and more people join Creedia and express their core values through their faith profile, an elaborate picture showing the commonality and diversity in the World’s creed as people see it.

Slide 4

Here is the first example of a member’s profile. The profile has a list of attributes including the religion, gender, one liner, twitter account and more, as well as the member’s spiritual biography. The innovative part is the belief profile, which is composed of two parts. The ‘my creed’ and ‘my bridge’ parts. The ‘my creed’ part includes a list of creed statements the member has chosen to represent her values and beliefs. The member can associate the creed statements as either ‘core’ creeds, ‘strong’ creeds or ‘positive creeds’. The ‘my bridge’ part includes a list of creed statements, usually from other traditions, that the member has chosen, which builds a bridge to others.

Slide 5

Here is another faith profile. While the previous faith profile main focus was on divinity, this profile focuses on social values. To date, a member has the option to either share her belief profile with anyone, or to share the profile only with Creedia members.

Slide 6

In the initial design of Creedia the belief profile was composed of creed statements only. However further along the road we understood that in some cases the same creed statement can mean different things for different people. To address that we introduced Interpretations, which allow members to elaborate on their understanding of creed statements. Those interpretations can also be shared among members and included in the faith profile. When a member adds a creed statement to his profile, he can also read the personal interpretation to this creed and decide to adopt those interpretations that match his understanding.

Slide 7

One can view the profile’s interpretations by pressing the Hide/Show button in the top part of the profile.

Slide 8

The list of creed statements is available in the creed directory. The list can be filtered according to religion and category attributes. The list of available attributes is listed on the left selectors. Roll you mouse to see the entire list. To filter the list click on the relevant selector attributes. The attributes will jump to the top bar.

Slide 9

Press ‘go’ to filter the list. Here we see the resulting Jewish and Christian creeds available. Members are encouraged to add new creeds if they do not find a similar creed already available.

Slide 10

The creed page is composed of the creed itself and optionally a list of interpretations.

Slide 11

To add the creed statement to your profile simply press the relevant category with the ‘creed’ and ‘bridge’ widgets on the creed statement footer.

Slide 12

To adopt an interpretation simply mark the ‘adopt’ box in the interpretation footer. You can add a new interpretation, add comments or edit the creed statement here as well.

Slide 13

Opinions are similar to interpretations in format. Their main purpose is to discuss issues beyond interpretation of a single creed. Opinions can be attributed with multiple religion attributes. One can comment and rate opinions, but unlike interpretations , they can not be included in the members faith profile. The list of interpretations and opinions is available in the Opinions directory. The list can be filtered according to religion, category and free tags attributes.
