12/9/2009 Branding yourself 2 Web 2.0 Describes the new and emerging trends of the internet to “enhance creativity, communications, secure information sharing, collaboration and the functionality of the web” (Wikipedia). We are all interconnected and can interact with the internet. Web 2.0 is mostly concerned with new applications and how we “use” the internet. We now have online communities focused on sharing … info, pics, entertainment, job opportunities, thoughts, answers, video etc. Are any of you using Web 2.0 technology?

What online profiles with your name did you find? Do you ‘own’ them? Is it YOU? What info is online that you didn’t know about? How could it have gotten there? How can we ‘piece’ you together?

Several websites allow you to ‘publish on demand’ Advertising, promoting and marketing are now up to the author. More difficult to get into larger retailers. Why self-publish?
