Short Adjectives EX: Tall Small Short Fat Big light

Positive degree Ali is tall. Huda is thin. Handy is fat. Mona is thin.

Comparative Degree Ali is taller than Ahmed. Our school is bigger than our house. London is colder than Cairo.

Superlative Degree Ali is the tallest boy in the class. Aswan is the hottest city in Egypt.

*طريقة تكوين صيغة المقارنة(1) 1-عند المقارنة بين اثنين فى صفة قصيرة ما نضيف للصفةer ) و نضع بعدها than ) 2-و لكن عند المقارنة بين اكثر من اثنين نضيف للصفة ( est . و نضع قبلها the ) الصفة التى تنتهى ب E نضيف لها R فى المقارنة و نضيف لها st) )فى التفضيل

(2) Ex: Nice nicer than the nicest Large larger than the largest

Ex: الصفة القصيرة التى تنتهى بحرف ساكن مسبوق بحرف متحرك نضعف الحرف الاخير قبل اضافة er او Est Ex: fat fatter than the fattest big bigger than the biggest

(3) 3- الصفة التى تنتهى بحرف y مسبوق بحرف ساكن نحذف ال y و نضيف ier فى المقارنة و iest فى التفضيل Ex Happy happier than the happiest Heavy heavier than the heaviest

Long Adjectives Ex Expensive Dangerous Famous Beautiful Useful Difficult

Positive Degree Mona is beautiful. My car is expensive. This road is dangerous. This question is difficult. Our city is famous.

Comparative Degree Huda is more beautiful than Mona Football is more popular than tennis.

Superlative Degree Soha is the most beautiful girl in the class. Ali’s car is the most expensive. This exam is the most difficult.

طريقة تكوين صيغة المقارنة و التفضيل فى الصفة الطويلة:- 1-عند تكوين صيغة المقارنة من الصفة الطويلة نضع More قبل الصفة و نضع than بعدها 2-ولكن عند تكوين صيغة التفضيل نضع the most قبل الصفة

Ex: more الصفة than the most +الصفة Ex Famous more famous than the most famous

Ex: useful more useful than the most useful dangerous more dangerous than the most dangerous beautiful more beautiful than the most beautiful

Equality as……الصفة……asمثل Ali is as tall as Ahmed. Mona is as beautiful as Huda.

In negative: Not as………………..as Or Not so ………………as Ex: Ali is not as tall as Ahmed. Ali is not so tall as Ahmed.
