Snicker snacks By: Ghye and Andy

Slide 2

Research We wanted to find out why the butter became a liquid into a solid We also wanted to find out how butter is made

Slide 3

Ingredients 6 cups of cornflakes 3 snicker bars 50g Butter 50g yoghurt

Slide 4

Problem What will happen when we change butter to a different fat( yoghurt, nothing) WHAT WILL HAPPEN??

Slide 5

Hypotheses We think that the yoghurt will make the Snicker snacks creamy and smooth because yoghurt is creamy and smooth…

Slide 6

Answers Butter is an emulsion butter is a water in oil emulsion When butter gets cold the water starts to regroup and get and get harder but since butter is an emulsion the oil and water do not spread apart

Slide 7

Observations! The yoghurt snicker snacks was not creamy and smooth instead when we melted the yoghurt the water and fat sort of split up But the butter must have had an emulsifier because the butter did not get very drippy and watery it stayed an emulsion.

Slide 8

conclusion The melted butter was the most proper for this recipe because it held every thing together very well On the other hand the yoghurt did stick everything together pretty well but did not get very hard and keep the cornflakes dry. But the butter did The resipe that did not have anything in ut except melted snickers and cornflakes kept the cornflakes dry but did not sticke to them very well but they were very very strong.

Slide 9

Reflections When we melted the snickers, yoghurt and butter we did not time the microwave for how long the butter etc, We put the pans in different places in the fridge and we also kept the different pans in the fridge for different amount of time.
