Classroom Procedures Things you need to know so this class runs like a well-oiled machine.

Beginning of Class Procedures Enter classroom calmly. If journals are set out, find yours and take it to your seat. Do not wait until the bell rings to do this. When the bell rings, you need to be sitting quietly in your seat, ready to start class. Open journal and read prompts on the front screen. Write a response to the prompt. Attempt to write two pages. If you finish early, take out your book and read.

Beginning of Class Procedures You will have the opportunity to receive ten points per day for writing in your journal during journal writing time. If you do not follow the procedures, you will lose points. After all points are lost, you are on the road to detention.

Beginning of Class Procedures There will be no passes given during the first ten minutes of class. Please do not ask. The answer will be no unless illness or injury is involved.

Beginning of Class Procedures I will pass out your colored folder either during journal time, or at the end. DO NOT STOP WORKING IN YOUR JOURNAL UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD JOURNAL TIME IS OVER.

If You Were Absent… Please make sure to bring me your excuse. This is your responsibility. If you do not, the missed daily participation grades and journal grades will be a zero.

When the Office Calls for a Student… It may seem like a little thing, but when the office calls for a student, they are talking to ME. Do not leave the classroom until I have called you to my desk and written you a pass.

End of Class Procedures There will be no passes given during the last ten minutes of class. Please do not ask. The answer will be no unless illness or injury is involved.

End of Class Procedures The following procedures are counted in as part of your daily participation grade. Do not bring your journals or colored folders to me at the end of class. When told, put any unfinished work into your colored folder. When told, pass your journal and folder to the front of YOUR row. Do not wait until I start walking around to collect them. Person at the front of row, separate into two piles. I will collect them from the front desks.

End of Class Procedures The following procedures are counted in as part of your daily participation grade. Return any borrowed material. Put completed work in tray on my desk. Do not get out of your seats and start to wander around otherwise. Do not start shouting and hollering. Wait until I dismiss class before leaving.
