Transformation Through Worship January 31, 2010
Rom 8:18, 20, 22, 25, 26 , 28-30 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. … 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope …22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. …25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. …
Romans 8:28-30 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. NKJV
It is in the context of suffering that Paul writes, “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose…”
Rom 8:28 The struggle of life leads us to lose our affections for this world; they teach us the truth about our frail, temporary and sinful condition; they lead us to total dependence on the Holy Spirit, and a desire to live in the Kingdom with an understanding of our final destiny; they produce in us the fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22-23 love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Romans 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son … The Father is changing our character. He wants us to look like and act like Jesus. 1 John 4:17 …as He is, so are we in this world. NKJV
It is in the midst of this transition that true worship is developed and released John 4:23…the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. NKJV
1 John 4:16 And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love … AMP We can’t worship God unless we are fully convinced that He loves us.
We say yes to the Father and immediately the process of transformation is set in motion. Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. NKJV We are New Creations being transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus.
Ps 24:1-4 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. 2 For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. 3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart …NKJV
