Sun The core of the sun is about 28 million degrees Fahrenheit. The surface of the sun is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The sun is the closest star to the planet earth
Mercury Mercury is 1/3 the size of earth. Mercury has been the least studied planet in our solar system. The length of one day on mercury is 58 earth days.
Venus It is the only planet to spin backwards clock wise Venus is the brightest planet. Its known as the evening star. Venus is the name of the Greek goddess.
Earth The earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. 70% of the surface of earth is covered with water. Earth is the only planet with living beings on it.
Mars The length of one year on mars is 687earth days. The length of one day is 24.6 so its longer than earth days. Mars has 2 moons named Phobos and and Deimos.
Jupiter The planet Jupiter has 4 very faint rings. Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System. One year on Jupiter is equal to 11.84 Earth years.
Saturn One year on is equal to 29.46 years on Earth. The length of one day on Saturn is equal to 11 hours. Saturn has 33 moons.
Uranus Uranus has 11rings mostly made of dust and rock. Uranus takes 84 years to orbit the sun. Uranus is known as the sideways planet because its axis is tilted 98 degrees.
Neptune The average temperature on Neptune is -369 degrees farinheit. One day on Neptune is equal to 16.11 hours. Neptune has at least 13 moons.
Pluto The average temperature on Pluto is -415 degrees F. It takes 245 years for Pluto to Orbit the Sun. Pluto is smaller than Earths Moon.
