Hofsstaðaskóli has a “guiding light” 
 The school has a “guiding light” or basic value system that sets the theme for the school. It consists of five V- words.

 Vinnusemi - industriousness
 Vellíðan- wellbeing
 Verkmennt -skills in arts and crafts

In Hofsstaðaskóli: The students are 5 – 12 years old There are 410 students Teacher’s are 35 Other staff are 28 The schoolday begin’s at 8:30 After-school program is to 17:00 The school got “Grænfáninn” 2007 the symbol for Fee (Foundation for environmental education)

Timetable In home room the students learn- Icelandic , english , math, social studies Sing-a-long with first grade – Students in first and second grade come together and sing songs every Tuesday. Rotation - Student's in second grade are divided into four groups for computers, library, Physics and Math. Each 6-7 weeks they rotate. Entertaining in Hall – Every other week first, second, third and fourth grade meet. Each class provides entertainment for the other classes.
