Oranges By: Brenda, Dean, Esther and Ghye

Our Orange…… We chose Sunkist company in USA. Because we thought that they would give a lot of information. Each Sunkist orange are 6.9RMB for each. Chinese oranges cost 4RMB for each. There are 45 countries that grow and sell oranges.

Chinese oranges Chinese orange is 4 RMB for each and it is from Hainan. And 8 people taste the Chinese orange and everyone like the Chinese orange than Sunkist orange is better because it is much sweeter, mushier, juicier, fleshier and the flavor was tastier.

Sunkist oranges Sunkist orange are 6.9RMB for each and it is from U.S.A. Also 8 people taste this but no one liked this one because it is sour and not fresh.

Chinese orange vs. Sunkist orange 8 people all said Chinese orange is better because Chinese one is fresh than Sunkist one. The Chinese orange is from Hainan and it is near Beijing so it is fresh. The Sunkist orange is from U.S.A and it is so far to come to Beijing. When it was picked it was fresh than Chinese orange but it is so far so it is not really fresh. So everyone liked Sunkist orange. Actually, the Sunkist oranges are better.

Environmental...... In California and Arizona Sunkist company picks oranges by hand When the citrus is ready to be picked, pickers use special clippers designed for the different citrus varieties. And then it goes to the packaging house when there they are prewashed then gone threw the initial grading station then rewashed and waxed then dried.

Social...... They pre- wash the oranges and past through the initial grading station then rewashed, waxed and dried. For the customers Sunkist oranges cost about 4rmb each but local oranges cost 2rmb for a kilo of oranges!

Economic...... Sunkist company sell oranges, but they use it to grow all the citrus instead of spending it to do what they want. Sunkist does not have any stocks because of that. Because Sunkist is a cooperative - a not-for-profit company. Our members, consisting of California and Arizona citrus growers.
