PLACES TO DO SPORT IN ALHAURIN DE LA TORRE.

Slide 2

FOOTBALL Here, in Alhaurín, a lot of boys play football so there are two important clubs: “Alhaurín” and “El Lauro”´football teams. There are some pitches to train and to play matches. The one in this photo is in “Carranque”, which is next to our high school.

Slide 3

This is the biggest football field which is in “Manantiales” and where the most important teams play

Slide 4

And this is the football field in “El pinar”, which is next to the tennis courts and the municipal swimming pool.

Slide 5

TENNIS Tennis is less popular than football here, but there are lots of boys and girls who practise it too. These are the tennis courts next to the previous football field.

Slide 6

BASKETBALL Basketball is the second most popular sport in Alhaurín. I must tell more about it because I’m a baskeball player. This club hasn’t got much economic help so we haven’t got transport to go out to play but we have excellent equipment and good courts. This is the main sports centre which can be divided in three so that some teams can play at the same time.

Slide 7

In the afternoon some teams train in Capellanía High School, where there are two outdoor courts and an indoor one.

Slide 8

And this is the future sport centre just to play basketbalI, which will be opened and ready to be used in a few months!

Slide 9

SWIMMING There are two swimming pools in Alhaurín: an indoor swimming pool, in the sport center, which is always open, and an outdoor swimming pool next to the football field, but it only opens in summer.

Slide 10

PADDLE Paddle is becoming a popular and modern sport. These courts are next to the court of “Manantiales”.

Slide 11

VOLLEYBALL This year the team of Alhaurín took part in Andalucía championship. Their training sessions are in our high school.

Slide 12

ROCK CLIMBING In the sport centre there is a climbing wall where the climbing club trains in the afternoon. Sometimes the club organises trips to mountains to climb, it’s called “Escuela de escalada” but it isn’t a school.

Slide 13

ROLLERBLADING AND SKATEBOARDING This skate rink is for people who enjoy skating. “La Casa de la Juventud” or The Youth Centre sometimes organises the “JAM” in which a lot of teenagers compete.

Slide 14

MORE IN THE SPORT CENTRE In the sport centre people can also do rhythmic gymnastics, martial arts, yoga, badminton… The sport centre is a very popular place. Everybody knows where it is. It is a landmark here.

Slide 15

SPORTS TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME If you want to jog, ride a bike, skate or just walk, you can go along the main avenue. It is very long and beautiful.

Slide 16

Also we have the “Jabalcuza” mountain to go hiking…

Slide 17

Or the open gyms in the street.

Slide 18

Or the petanque for the oldest…
