Good practices we learned from our partners on "Is There Anyone Hearing Me?!" Comenius project 2008-2010
Six countries… One purpose…
Kirikkale (TURKEY) We can purify the water...
Leftover yard Botarell (SPAIN) If separate the rubbish, the wastes can turn into something useful...
Plant of rendering the municipal weste harmless (Dlogoszyn, POLAND)
Recycled oil factory Cator (SPAIN) The used oil can be reused again so that it does not pollute the environment...
Holcim (BULGARIA) We can use leftovers as an energy resource...
Kirikkale (TURKEY) We can plant trees…
Iron Gate Hydroelectric Power Station (ROMANIA) We can use the energy of the water...
Kozloduy NPP (BULGARIA) Nuclear power plants need less fuel than ones which burn fossil fuels. One ton of uranium produces more energy than is produced by several million tons of coal or several million barrels of oil. Coal and oil burning plants pollute the air. Well-operated nuclear power plants do not release contaminants into the environment.
Nature park “Vrachanski Balkan” (BULGARIA) We can spend more time among nature...
or … Nicolae Romanescu Park (ROMANIA)
Nature garden (Przelewice, POLAND) or …
We admire the life in Makrenitsa (GREECE), based on preserving the nature
Lake Karla (GREECE) We can revive the natural ecosystems and create oases for the local flora and fauna...
The Environmental Center and School in the village of Makrenitsa (GREECE) We can teach the children to love, value and keep the nature…
Why is important to know this?
The population of the planet has tripled for the last 50 years the global economy has increased seven times. These are numbers which will go on rising headlong.
Our consumption is threatening: we have been cutting down forests so quickly that they have no time to grow again; we take unscrupulously the limited natural resources; we leave enormous quantities of harmful and non-dissociating wastes after us and we generate such quantities carbon dioxide that our planet cannot manage to absorb them and due to this the temperature of the atmosphere is rising constantly.
If we continue to live by force of centuries’ habit just drawing from natural resources without restoring them and polluting the environment unscrupulously… the mankind will hardly survive.
We can correct some mistakes as long as we learn from each other and help each other…
