Homework Tutoring – It’s Online and It’s Different!

Slide 2

Introduction A classroom at school is a mix of all kinds of students – some who instantly grasp what the teacher is saying, some who take time to understand and some who understand but find it a little difficult to apply while completing assignments. In such a mixed class, there are also students who excel in school work but need a little financial assistance when it comes to fees. This is where a balance is struck and those who need assistance can seek assistance from those who know. Well, they will need to pay for it too – which ultimately helps those students who need the money. Well, online portals do exist that help with exactly this. Both the students seeking help and those who can give help benefit.

Here’s how it works! For students Students who need help with a particular assignment register themselves to an online portal. There they can upload the assignment with which they require help.   They will need to complete all the details of the assignment and also specify a timeline within which it needs to be completed. The assignment is taken up by someone who is registered as a tutor. This is usually a student from the same school who understands that subject well and is willing to help. The student seeking help will also have to enter the amount he is willing to pay for the assignment. The assignment details, the amount and the timeline to finish it, are all displayed on the website. Cont…

Cont… For Tutors Those students who are particularly good at some subjects – but need a little help financially, can register themselves as tutors. They can then browse through the available assignments that are posted online. The assignments can be filtered by category and interest and tutors can select the one that interests them or the one that they are good at. They can bid on the assignment. There will be other tutors bidding for the same assignment too. If selected for the assignment, they will need to submit the completed assignment within the time frame specified. After completion the student will need to pay the tutor for his services. If he has any queries or questions he can communicate with the tutor via the web portal.

Conclusion Finally, both the student seeking help and the student helping – both benefit from the entire process. In the process of helping each other, students learn, earn and bond with your classmates. The main advantage is that you do not have to wait until your teacher or professor finds time to answer your queries and you do not have to take an incomplete assignment back to class the next day. This system works well, because the schedules are flexible and there is no rigidity too. Peer to peer learning happens and there is no other better way to achieve this kind of a bond between students.
