SCHOOL VISION Mission Statement: The mission of Wilshire Elementary is to support all students in realizing their potential by providing relevant and challenging learning experiences in a safe, nurturing environment. Strategic Goal for Science: 100% of students at Wilshire Elementary will show mastery in science as measured by district and state assessments My vision for technology integration at Wilshire Elementary: I believe that technology is the vehicle that engages 21st century students in a dynamic, inquiry-based academic environment. I believe this is achieved by integrating instruction with technology and ensuring that our students and teachers are proficient users of these new technologies.
RESEARCH GOAL To determine in what ways does the creation of a professional learning community affect the integration of interactive whiteboard technology into science instruction at Wilshire Elementary
OUTCOME: Solicitation of data on faculty’s current knowledge and comfort level regarding interactive whiteboard technology and professional learning communities
OUTCOME: Analysis of appropriate data from outside sources
OUTCOME: Analysis of qualitative data to form baseline curricular and professional development goals
OUTCOME: Creation of PLC for interactive whiteboard integration into existing science curriculum
OUTCOME: Development of science lessons in alignment with district curriculum standards which utilize interactive whiteboard technology
OUTCOME: Assessment of teacher satisfaction with interactive whiteboard implementation
OUTCOME: Development of integration plan for 2011-2012 school year
