Modus Operandi State departments should identify the potential areas and crops Search for NGOs who can act as service providers, else departments can act as service providers Appointment of service providers under NPOF
Service Providers in Action Make farmer groups in small cluster of 5-10 villages Ensure that no synthetic inputs are used by any farmer Register with certification agency Take up all documentation work needed under ICS
Financial Assistance available under NPOF Rs 3.00 lakh per year to each service provider to cater to a group of 1500 farmers and 1500 ha. Area 25% subsidy for establishment of biofertilizer and vermiculture units 25% subsidy on cost of certification Full assistance for human resource development and demonstrations
Financial Assistance available under NPOF Assistance for organization of workshops etc. Assistance for creation of market infrastructure For publicity For any other activity leading to promotion of organic farming and marketing of certified organic products
Proposed role for State Governments Help in identification of area and appointment of service providers Ban use of synthetic inputs in entire designated area Take up regular training activity for service provider personals Help in certification
