Brief slideshow about the story of Barnhart showing our capabilities

Slide 2

40-year old company that has become one of the premiere crane rigging & heavy transport companies in the country mainly supporting the energy sector.

Slide 3

One the reasons we have been able to grow successfully is that sat down about a dozen years ago put on paper what we are about? Our mission statement – be the best with core values that we take very serioulsy

Slide 4

Getting new aerial done.

Slide 6

Strategic alliances across the country allow us to provide equipment resources at competitive rates.

Slide 8

Hydraulic cranes to 500T Forklifts to 120k Heavy Lift cranes to 1,760T Goldhofer transporters to 12,000T Towable Self propel units Electronic steer units Dolly transporters to 350T 1,250T MS River terminal 2,800T Modular Lift Tower Jacking & sliding systems Innovative rigging systems

Slide 9

We feel we have the best tool belt in the industry. At our core we started as a crane company. We know cranes very well. But also heavy transport having the largest Goldhofer fleet in the nation. Very diverse in the other tools we offer, from lift tower systems (fully designed & built by BCR) to jacking systems to various custom built systems for equipment installation.

Slide 11

Removed and replace a reactor after the customer called to see if we had an idea that would avoid removing equipment, pipe and structure above the unit. We supplied only a man, equipment and a plan. The crane was supplied by others

Slide 12

Called in by the customer to look at removing and replacing the MSR in halves. After looking at the job we suggested that it could be done without cutting the units in half. Following a laser survey to prove it, we were awarded the job. This shortened the outage, improved quality (shop fab of the entire unit) and lowered the total cost.

Slide 14

Standard MLT arrangement over 200’ tall. Unique features are the MTT (Modular Tailing Tower), pin puller and highly versatile adjustable lifting links. MLT used two 850T strand jacks

Slide 15

Because a heavy barge crane was not available we were asked to develop a method to replace two lock gates without a heavy crane. The 500T hoist was mounted on bents / rollers to lift and travel on the 8’ deep girders. The barge was the tailing system. The entire system had to be load tested after erection which we did by lifting the CC2000 that was used to erect the girders.

Slide 17

Standard heavy lift but tailing was completed with the Golhofer tailing device to avoid the need for another large crane. Not to mention that there was very little room for it.

Slide 18

In 2009/2010 we did over 200 modules in support of modular refinery construction. These were loaded out in Tampico Mexico

Slide 19

Two ESP (electrostatic precipitators) were to be installed in a live unit of a refinery to comply with EPA clean air laws. Rather than run the risks associated with stick building the units over a control room and in a live unit, ExxonMobil decided to fully erect them in a construction yard. Both units were built on our 8’ deep girders so we could lift then 28’ with the MLT then place the 88 lines of Goldhofer under them with shoring to carry them into the plant and set the ESP units on final steel. Design weight was actually 2,800 Tons

Slide 20

Received various pieces at a fab shop in Houston, hauled to the dock, used a barge crane to transfer to barge and ship inland

Slide 21

Received this on barge at the site. The freight forwarder loaded it to barge and delivered to the job in Joliet, IL. Fortunately, the saddles had jacking pockets (shown) so we could us climbing jacks to raise them for self loading. Hauled and set with the CC2600

Slide 22

Standard heavy lift but tailing was completed with the Golhofer tailing device to avoid the need for another large crane. Not to mention that there was very little room for it.

Slide 23

Typical turbine and generator hauling project but we had several structures to cross. Some we jumped and another one we used doublewide Goldhofer. Note that we brought the second trailer along side, made the connection then slid the load to the center of the combined trailer.

Slide 29

Slide 31

Simple alternative to using a big crane to set two engines that arrived to this compressor station late. The construction manager had never heard of gantry and rigging an engine in this way.

Customer: John Deere Wind Energy Developer: John Deere Wind Energy Scope: Variable with project but up to- offload, transport on site, wash, erect, grout, tension, manage civil, haul and/or set transformers, mechanically and electrically complete. BCR has installed 90% + of JD’s turbines. We have managed the issues of constructing small wind farms for JD- logistics, construction phase schedules, multi-mobilizations.

Slide 48

Customer: Invenergy Developer: Invenergy Scope: receive at pad, erect, mechanically and electrically complete Extreme weather conditions (Buffalo NY in the winter) overcome on schedule. Multiple landowner issues overcome for effective movement of equipment on site. Logistics for 24 crane moves managed over city and county roads.

Slide 51

Customer: Horizon Wind Energy Developer: Horizon Wind Energy Scope: receive at pad (or haul from laydown yard), offload, wash, erect, mechanically and electrically complete, grout, tension Subcontractors: Christenson Electric We were awarded Phase II of the farm shortly after Mortensen finished Phase 1. Each phase was 120 turbines. Mortensen used 6 erection cranes, countless offloading and base setting cranes, 18 pickers, 35 forklifts, and 250 men to complete Phase 1 in ~11 months. We brought 1 LR 1350, 1 500t hydro, 3) pickers, 6) forklifts, and peaked with 83 men to erect the second phase in 6 months. We did so by managing site conditions (landowners, highways, gas lines, powerlines, and erection sequence) to minimize crane breakdowns and maximize schedule.

Slide 53

Customer: TVIG (Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group) Developer: E-On Scope: Receive, wash, erect, mechanically complete, align gearbox Subcontractors: Evolution Energy Group (aligning gearboxes) Texas heat, 172 turbines in ~120 days with numerous wind days. Zero recordables

Slide 54

So far, two of these systems have been assembled and are available through PEG.

Slide 55

Customer: Vestas Developer: WKN Scope: Receive at pad, erect, mechanically and electrically complete Subcontractors: JMS Electrical The largest wind turbines in the US. M18000 with MAXER. 400’ main boom.

Slide 56

Customer: Horizon Wind Developer: Horizon Wind Scope: Receive at pad, erect, wash, mechanically complete Added second crane at the customer’s request to overcome delivery delays and complete on schedule. CC2800 narrow track LR1600

Slide 63

Customer: Clipper Developer: Clipper BCR assisted Clipper in developing installation procedures for their turbine. We engineered the 6-point lift rigging which permits the machine base, gearbox, and nacelle fiberglass to be set in one lift. 100,000+ man hours with Zero recordables in harsh winter conditions

Our Commitment to Quality Complete Quality Assurance program with an Observe, Verify, and Document philosophy. Site Specific QA Plans ensure ZERO line item punch lists are attained by having QA Technicians present and active at the point of installation to prevent errors- not identify them after the mistake has been made. Provide the customer a complete set of documents from receiving through completion in preferred format (hard copy or electronic). Quality is “built in” – not “inspected in”
