ABOUT MAAPS Maharaja Aggarsain Public School was founded in 1983 by the Aggrawal Dhramshala Trust. The School was established with the aim that education is accessible to every section of the society. The School aims to promote an integral education system on value-based principles. The emphasis is to promote all round development of human mind, body and spirit, along with enrichment of the values of character, integrity and endeavour. The school attaches paramount importance for value based education. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education for its All India Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations, there are classes from Nursery to XII. At the +2 level the School has all the three streams viz. Science, Commerce and Humanities. The School employs latest techniques in implanting knowledge in the growing children. Excellent facilities are made available for enhancing the inquisitions of the budding minds, backed up by most modern equipments like computers, laboratory system for knowledge improvement.
Seeing experiment being performed is important as it firms the learning but performing experiment with your own hands enhances the joy of learning. In chemistry lab students learn the method of preparation, identification, observation technique and drawing correct inferences. They acquire the skills of various lab techniques. They get accustomed to the proper lab equipments and precautions to be observed while working in lab. CHEMISTRY LAB
PHYSICS LABORATORY Genuine laboratory practice is given in the school for the systematic and scientific training of mind Physics is an experimental science and history of science reveals that most of the noticeable discoveries in science have been made in physics labs. In the physics lab students rediscover and verify the laws which they study in the class rooms. This lab contribute significantly in helping the student to develop scientific temperament.
BIOLOGY LABORATORY Biology, being a systematized study of living world based on observation involves curiosity, inquisitiveness and unbiased analyses. Our biology lab provides immense opportunity to students with scientific frame of mind to observe and analyze detailed morphological, histological, physiologycal and anatomical aspect of plant and animal kingdom. The practical work in biology lab includes section cutting, mounting slide preparation, chromatography and other forms of specimen observation.
COMPUTER LAB As it is very essential for our students to prepare themselves to meet the challenges of the 21 century, adequate attention is being given to the expansion and up gradation of the computer facilities already existing in the school. Our computer labs have the latest Pentium-based multimedia machines for providing hands-on experience to students from Nursery to XII. Computer Aided Learning packages are specially designed to make learning more interesting and the acquired knowledge more lasting. An LCD projector makes teaching and learning an interesting, enjoyable and effective process.
LIBRARY: KING'S TREASURE The habit of good reading is a sign of good culture. The books are the best companion and friends. They do not fail us in adversity. Our library is a treasure house of books. There are variety of books on varied subjects that quenches the thirst for knowledge and information among students. A good range of poetry, fiction, textbooks, reference books, magazines, comics, and CDs are available for the students. Students are encouraged to consult reference books and encyclopedias to inculcate the habit of reading good books to gain knowledge from a very early age.
MUSIC Through music and dance the students are given a glimpse of the richness of India's diverse culture. Classical as well as folk dances are taught in the school. The music room is equipped with latest music system and traditional instruments.
SPORTS The importance of sports is being recognised increasingly from the educational and social point of view. While sports give shape and strength to the body, they also instill the spirit of discipline and team-work. Games like cricket, hockey and football are popular because of the spirit of teamwork which they inspire. Therefore, in M.A.A.P.S. the infrastructure is well-provided to cater sports like cricket, basket ball, volley-ball, skating and other indoor games. For youth a regular participation in sports enables a positive channel for diversion of energies. “Today's losers can be tomorrow's winners.” The students learn that success and failures are part of life; but effort has to be consistent.
TRANSPORT FACILITY The school extends transport facility to the students in this sprawling city in an efficient manner. The routes have been spread covering north-west and central Delhi (NCT) through nine buses. Teachers accompany the students on each route to ensure their safety.
Workshop held at CRPF on 27.06.08 conducted by Mr. Jatin Chawla attended by Mrs. Tripta Sachdeva & Mrs. Sarika Sodhi. The main motive of the workshop was to make us understand how to make a play way studying atmosphere for students in the school. They suggested and discussed many methods, which may be helpful for us to create such an environment Mrs. Renu Garg and Mrs. Tripta Sachdeva attended the inaugural function of “Touch the Light” programme at Visha Bharti Public School, Paschim Vihar on July 23, 2008. It is a programme run by Brahma Kumaris values and to give peace to the minds of young students. Because teen age is the best age to implement these values in the human beings. A seminar was organized by Times Of India for the teachers co-coordinators of the schools on August 09,2008 to acknowledge the efforts made by them through out the year. The venue of seminar was India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road. The program started with the ceremony of lighting the lamp by Mr. Manoj Bajpayee, a well known Bollywood actor. After this, the winners of color splash competition organized by Times Of India were facilitated were prizes. The topic of the event was “Teach India”. A social science Workshop was organized by Forum of Public Schools at Nav Bharti School, Pitam Pura, Delhi. About 40 schools participated in this workshop from different parts of Delhi. Our School was one of it. It was great honors our respected Principal Mrs. Mukta Misra was invited as main dignitary. A work shop on “Teaching of English” in classes X & XII was organized on 25th Aug. 2008 at Goodlay Public School, Shalimar Bagh by Mr. Amitabh Atreya from Oxford University press. A workshop was organized by Mrs. Mukta Misra on 11th Sep. 2008 at Maharaja Aggarsain Public School, Pitam Pura, Delhi-110088. The topics are : a) A neurological study of likings and disliking between teachers and students. b) The analysis of SWOT. 7. A workshop on “Power Point Presentation” was conducted in M.A.A.P.S on 11th Sep. 2008 by Computer Department. The purpose was to train teachers with modern teaching & learning techniques. The workshop began with an introduction by the Principal “ Mrs. Mukta Misra, who spoke on the importance of designing lesson plan using Microsoft Power Point.
