The Article of the Constitution Article Four details the relationship between the states and the federal government and amongst the states. One sub-area of this relationship is the allowance for extradition between states.
Current Event After escaping to Maryland because he killed an Illinois police officer during a high-speed pursuit, a man faces is being charged for aggravated fleeing a police officer. The driver agreed to extradition from Maryland back to Illinois after turning himself in
Relationship to Article This current event relates to Article four of the US Constitution because the man charged is being extradited over state lines. The Constitution goes out of its way to name this as one of the things it sets up. It also shows how the states are working together to bring the man being charged to justice, emphasizing the relationship the Constitution sets up amongst states.
Living Document This current event shows that the Constitution is still alive because these two states are utilizing the relationship the Constitution set up between them to bring this man to justice. It also shows the extradition process the Constitution put in place being used to extent it was fully intended for.
