As you translate: When translating a file, the source sentence and translated sentence can be automatically saved to the translation memory The source sentence and translated sentence can be added to the translation memory after they have been reviewed From existing translated material: If you already have a source document and a translated version, you can “align” and match the sentences of these two files The reviewed source and translated sentences can be imported into the translation memory Different methods of creating translation memories:

Analyse Command What is the analyse feature? Analyses one or more documents by comparing them to the currently selected translation memory. TWB reads the documents segment by segment and determines the match value by searching for identical or similar sentences in your translation memory. TWB also examines the text for repetitions.

Log file What is the log file? File where statistical information about the analysis operation is saved What format? Two log files: .log and .csv. Where is it saved? By default, the log files are located in the same folder and have the same file name as the current translation memory. However, you should always make sure that you are saving the log file in the right place (by clicking on Log File > Browse).

Preparing MS Word to interact with TWB Save the original file in the ST folder Analyse the ST Re-save the Source Text because Trados overwrites the original file. Copy it from the ST folder, paste it in the TT folder and change the name. Open the file we want to translate (Target Text) Organise MS Word and TWB windows Enable Hidden Text ( ) Make sure the 'Tag Protection' is on (Trados Menu > Toggle Tag Protection) Put the cursor after the first letter of the first word, click on Open/Get and start translating.
