ATTENTION To say in with the name of a country there are 3 different words; la France > en France le Luxembourg > au Luxembourg les Etats-Unis > aux Etats-Unis

ATTENTION Luckily most of the countries are feminine and almost all countries that end in -E are feminine so it’s easy to remember. So I live in becomes; l’Ecosse > J’habite en Ecosse la Suisse > J’habite en Suisse la Belgique > J’habite en Belgique la Grande > J’habite en Grande- -Bretagne Bretagne

ATTENTION BUT some countries are masculine: So I live in changes to le Luxembourg > J’habite au Luxembourg le Pays de Galles > J’habite au pays de Galles And some countries are plural: les Etats-Unis > J’habite aux Etats-Unis Le Luxembourg Le Pays de Galles Les Etats-Unis SO WE SAY : J’habite au Luxembourg J’habite au Pays de Galles J’habite AUX Etats-Unis

So to say in with the name of a country; For feminine countries use en e.g. la France > J’habite en France (Note - all countries that end in –e are feminine) For masculine countries use au e.g. le Luxembourg > J’habite au Luxembourg For plural countries use aux e.g. les Etats-Unis > J’habite aux Etats-Unis
