What is squidoo? Squidoo is a web 2.0 site where you design webpages (lenses) about ANYTHING you can image You add various modules and build pages. On these pages, you can link to companies’ products and sell them. When people buy them, you make a commission. You also can make money from traffic and lensrank. AND- you can even get points and trophies for doing certain things on Squidoo!

How to join Joining Squidoo is easy…. Just go to Squidoo.com and click “Sign up Now”!

Getting keywords Before you make a lens, you need to find the right kind of keywords. Google search “Google Keywords” and click on the keyword tool. From there, type an idea (like “gifts for nerds”, or “clarinet cases”) and see what comes up. You want to pick a phrase that has low competition, and a lot of people searching for it.

Building a lens Just click “Create a Lens” on the left sidebar, or bottom of the page of your dashboard. From there, you will enter the workshop. Add modules, and put content in them. For more info: check out the tutorial on Lens Building COMING SOON

Publishing your lens All you have to do is click “Publish” and your lens becomes live! You can still edit it afterwards.

Now what? What do you do after you create a lens? Your goals are the following 1. Get on page 1 of Google! 2. Get traffic! 3. Sell products! In order to do this you have to BACKLINK! … What does that mean?!???

Backlinking Backlinks are links to your lens that are placed on where on the web. Comes from blog comments, blog posts, articles, Facebook, Twitter, other social media, Yahoo Answers, Digg, Stumbleupon…basically ANYWHERE that you can put a link online. The more backlinks, the better Google ranks your site. The better ranking, the more traffic, and thus more sales! Backlinks = Rank = Traffic = Sales

You only think you’re done After you spend hours of backlinking, you will be tempted to think you are done. However… you are very wrong. Backlinking is a continual task… Keep working until you reach #1 on Google. Then, work to stay there. This is my lens!!
