Typical Day on Planet Earth
116 Sq. miles of tropical rainforest are destroyed.
72 Square miles of desert will form in dry regions of Earth due to Human Activities.
250,000 newborns join the human race.
1.5 million tons of hazardous waste will be disposed of (released into land, atmosphere, and water).
Americans will throw away enough waste to fill the New Orleans Superdome twice.
By day’s end…Earth will be a little hotter, the rain a little more acid, out cities a little more crowded, and the air a little bit dirtier. Tomorrow…this process begins all over again.

Ancient Civilizations And Ecological Downfalls
Even in ancient times, humans caused major changes in the Global Ecology. Migrations of Siberian hunters descending on the Americas 12,000 years ago coincided with rapid extinctions of 80% of all mammalian and avian species that thrived during the Late Pleistocene.
Studies show mass-extinctions everywhere early man wandered. Early indigenous peoples completely wiped out large numbers of bird species in New Zealand, Polynesia, the Egyptian Lowlands, & Scandinavia.
6-8,000 years ago the Sumerians built a great civilization in the area now known as Syria, Iraq, & Lebanon. Over 1500 years, 90% of the lush forests were destroyed, resulting in siltation & desertification, and the eventual downfall of this great civilization.
The collapse of this Mesopotamian Empire was followed by similar large-scale devastations of forests in Greece & Rome. By 600BC, most of Greece was environmental wasteland. By 200BC most of Italy’s forests were cut to meet the Roman needs for food and shelter.

…If we people of Earth are to avoid a massive disaster within the lifetime of our children, our most critical and urgent task is to bring forth a transformed vision of progress, one of sustainable and replicable development.
…Gerald O. Barney, Global2000 Revisited, p. 5.
Slide 14
Rain Forests
Cover less than 2% of Earth’s surface.
Home to 50-70% of all life forms on the Planet.
Scientists estimate an average 137 species become extinct each day (50,000 each year).
Are important to the Global Weather System. Their destruction alters the Global Hydrological Cycle, causing droughts, flooding, and soil erosion.
Rainforest destruction alters Earth’s Albedo (Reflectivity), which, in turn, alters wind & ocean current patterns, and rainfall distribution.
Slide 15
Forests…or Fiber
America uses as much wood by weight, as all metals, plastics, and cement combined. Much of American lumber goes to Japan. About 40% of the trees go to make paper…most of which is not recycled.
If we continue on our present course, Earth’s temperate forests may disappear within the next two decades. This isn’t even about wood, but about Fiber…and how our culture uses Fiber.
One practical way to save Earth’s forests is to use annual fibers like industrial hemp. Anything made from wood, you can be made from hemp. We can leave the forests alone, and everyone can go back to work.

“The Oceans are a great metaphor…
Everything we do on land ends up
in our coastal waters…
The oceans mirror the health
of our planet.”
…Ted Danson, President, American Oceans Campaign
Slide 17
Clearcutting the Ocean Floor
Weighted trawling nets, dragged across the ocean floor catch huge numbers of fish, shrimp, & scallops. Trawlers are damaging the sea- floor environment on a massive global scale.
Trawling is hidden from view, so its effects are often overlooked. Trawling kills seabed organisms by crushing or burying them. This destroys food & nursery grounds needed to replenish marine stocks.
Trawling has been compared to clearcutting forests. Scientists estimate the global trawler fleet disturbs an area of ocean floor 100 times larger than the area of forests cut each year.

Slide 18
Wasteful Fishing Practices
Every year in the Bering Sea & the Gulf of Alaska, over 300 million pounds of fish and marine creatures are thrown overboard by large-scale fishing operations.
This waste is equivalent to One billion meals, and occurs in what federal officials regard as, “America’s best-managed marine fisheries.”
In 1998, there were nearly 100 catcher/processor ships in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands.
Conservation groups recently called for a halt to 20-year-old policies that are, “systematically destroying the worlds largest & most productive ecosystems.”

Coral Reefs
Coral Reefs have been called, Rainforests of the Sea
Reef Parks Allow Diversity & Natural Balance
Coral Reefs are Biological Banks for thousands of plant and animal species.
They provide Seed Stock for adjacent sport and commercial fishing areas.
Eco-Tourism: a multi-Billion $ business, focused on a renewable resource, creating local jobs.
Slide 20
Bioprospecting the Genetic Resources of the Sea
Deep sea organisms have adapted to extreme environmental pressures. They have unique structures and metabolic pathways that make them valuable biological resources.
Discovery of Hydrothermal Vents communities in the deep oceans have revolutionized thinking on the parameters of life & how minerals are deposited on the sea floor.
An entirely new biological Kingdom was discovered. The Archaea possess previously unknown chemosynthetic pathways. This has extended our definition of life itself, and provided new clues on the development of life on Earth.

Slide 21
Global Resource Management Strategies
Establish Ecosystem-Based Management Guidelines – To protect & monitor oceanic and terrestrial wildlife preserves for research, & preservation of ecological diversity.
Create a Sustainable Ocean Resources Management Plan - To eliminate inefficient and destructive fishing methods, like Bottom Trawling, Bi- Catch Wastage, and Overexploitation of Global Fisheries Resources.
Coordinate Global Satellite Sensing Technology - To monitor Pollution, Desertification, Forest Fires, and Global Fisheries Resources.
Create an International “Environmental Earth Corps,” To train and organize global military forces to implement environmental education programs, enforce eco-regulations, protect natural resources, supervise pollution cleanup, and play a major role in large-scale environmental restoration and enhancement projects.

Slide 23
The Specter of Starvation
This year 12 Million People will starve to death.
30 Million People will perish from hunger-related disease.
This is the equivalent to 300 Boeing 737’s with 400 passengers each, crashing every day of the year, with no survivors.

Slide 24
The Specter of AIDS
“Across Asia and Africa, AIDS has become the huge time bomb of the sex industry, because it is through prostitution that AIDS gains its widest spread. The epidemic is out of control in dozens of countries where almost no one is willing to act on it, or even talk about it.”
Paul H. Ray & S. R. Anderson, 2000 – The Cultural Creatives, p. 215.
Slide 25
Transformative Family Planning
There are visionaries in Family Planning throughout the world, whose efforts are nothing short of heroic. Dr. Firman Lubis has six clinics in poor districts of Jakarta. Since he introduced Norplant Contraceptive Implants in 1981, over seven hundred thousand Indonesian women use this family planning method.

IV A Global Shift to Clean, Renewable Energy Technologies
Slide 28
Geothermal Powered UK?
A group of scientists have developed a plan for a massive underground geothermal plant, which could provide power for all of Great Britain.
The $115 Billion power station would be located six miles below Cornwall in Southwestern England, and is designed to produce 10 Gigawatts, which is enough for the entire country.
Using “hot dry-rock technology,” water is pumped into the Earth’s core, and is transformed into steam at 750oF (400oC), which can then be converted into electricity, which is plentiful, and non-polluting.
Initial Research Phase of 3-5 years would cost US$86 million, and the Plant would require 25-30 years to complete. The newly created Mining for Heat Consortium believes, that despite the high economic investment, the project is both practical & viable.
…Source: Environmental News Network, 4/27/01.
Slide 29
Oil From Coal…Free!
The U.S. has 28% of Earth’s Coal Reserves, but generates only 30% of its energy from coal. China’s vast coal reserves account for 75% of its energy. In China, Acid Rain has caused extensive health & environmental damage. China’s emissions also cause over 80% of the acid rain in South Korea, and 50% in Japan.
In the 1920’s, Lewis Karrick perfected The LTC (Low-Temperature Carbonization) Process at the U.S. Bureau of Mines. Coal is heated to 8000F without Oxygen, distilling oil from the coal. 1 ton of coal thus yields: 1 barrel of oil, 3,000cu.ft. of rich fuel gas, and 1,500lbs of smokeless coke. From an economic perspective, the oil is free!
The Coke is excellent for coal-fired boilers, & steel smelters. Coal Gas yields more energy than natural gas, & produces only CO2 as exhaust. When Karrick produced oil cheaper than oil wells (plus the additional gas & coke), the government…pressured by vested energy interests… withdrew support from his Colorado Pilot Plant.
Karrick was issued 16 U.S. Patents. These patents have now expired, and are available to anyone in the world.

Slide 30
Nuclear Waste Photodeactivation
Photodeactivation bombards nuclear materials with hi-energy x-rays to accelerate natural radioactive decay. Radioactive materials become stable, inert, & harmless within days, rather than of thousands of years.
The short time-span of the process allows for On-Site Storage, until the treated isotopes become inert. Since the process generates more electricity than it uses, surplus electrical power can be fed into an existing electrical power grid.
The modular treatment plant can be transported on 3 flatbed trailers, or barges directly to the waste site (thus eliminating transportation problems entirely). Permanent installations can also be constructed as integral parts of nuclear power plants.
The technology was developed by Dr. Paul Brown, and offers a solution and an end to long-term storage of hazardous nuclear waste. It creates no toxic or hazardous waste products, and can treat nearly any kind of nuclear material. The technology is based on hard science, has been experimentally validated, and is available now for implementation.

Essential Strategies for Global Energy Efficiency
A Shift from Oil & Coal to Clean-Burning Fuels, like Natural Gas, Hydrogen; and Renewable Energy, such as Solar, Wind, Wave, Geothermal, & Biogas; plus Development of New Technologies.
Clean Energy Options: 1) Existing Utilities provide efficient, cheap, dependable Clean Energy Systems. 2) A shift from Centralized Power to Small, Efficient Energy Generating Plants installed in homes, institutions, and industries, eliminating distribution lines and associated costs entirely. 3) Combining Alternative Energy Systems.
New Power Generation Technologies Fuel Costs may have relatively large Capital Costs, but no Fuel Costs, and low Maintenance Costs… (a shift from Fuel-Intensive Systems to Capital-Intensive Systems).
Conservation, Combined with Financial Incentives for Energy- Efficient Devices, and Penalties for Inefficient Devices.
Slide 33
V A Global Green Revolution
Slide 34
A Global “Green Deal”
We need a Global Environmental Program to Renovate Human Civilization from Top to Bottom. Leadership and Incentives from Government & Industry, could help “Green Technologies” develop as fast as computer and internet technologies. Xerox, Compac, & 3M have cut greenhouse emissions in half… yet enjoy 50% higher revenues.
Governments need only shift existing subsidies from Environmentally Incorrect Technologies to efficient “Green Technologies.” If even half the $500-600 billion is re-directed, we would be off to a roaring start.
This Program must include countries like China & India, since they alone could doom the rest of the world to severe Global Warming. The Program is no permanent fix, but can buy us time to make positive changes. Taxes on eco-destructive practices, re-directed to fund positive programs, could smooth transitions.
Although we must change our ways profoundly, most of the technologies are already available. Though a major “Global Consciousness Shift” is required, results will cut across class & national boundaries, benefiting the Global Biosphere for everyone.

Slide 35
Restorative Aquaculture
Coastal Mangroves and Seagrass Beds, the Nursery Grounds for juvenile Marine Life are seriously threatened by Dredging, Development, & Commercial Aquaculture. Fishing Areas have also suffered severe damage from bottom trawling and commercial over-fishing.
Coral Reefs have already lost most large fish species to spear fishing and destructive fishing practices. Exotic fish and shell collectors have pushed many species to near extinction, and unbalanced natural reef ecologies.
Through Aquaculture , Marine Organisms can be raised in captivity, & released back into the sea. Nursery Operations, funded by government & Environmental Groups, provide new local industry. Production of exotic aquarium specimens also provides additional income.
Marine Parks are “Biological Banks.” They seed adjacent fishing areas. Scuba Diving…a Renewable Resource…generates additional eco-tourist dollars to fund parks and local economies.
The Key to Restorative Aquaculture is overproduction of eggs by marine species to compensate for natural losses in the Wild. Aquaculture technology can boost natural survival rates from 100 to 1,000 percent, providing a “Magical Gift” for restoring the Marine Environment.
Slide 36
Basic Strategies for A Global “Green Revolution”
A Set of Global Guidelines and Economic Subsidies to assist industries & institutions in becoming more energy-efficient, & non-polluting, while increasing overall operational efficiency, and profit margins.
Guidelines for Corporate Inter-Cooperation to insure the most efficient use of energy, raw materials, bi-products, and finished goods, including cooperative efforts in marketing, delivery, and waste-stream processing technologies.
Global Guidelines for Mining & Harvesting Natural Resources, regulated by international treaties, economic incentives & penalties, cooperative military enforcement of regulations, and market transformation through investment in, and purchase of approved “green” companies, goods, and services.
A Renewed Effort to Monitor and Protect the “Global Commons” of Oceanic, Atmospheric, and Land-Based Natural Resources, using Remote Environmental Sensing Satellite Imaging Technology, & International “Green Peacekeeping Forces” to protect Biological Diversity, and “Natural Biological Banks,” which are essential for understanding Nature, and maintaining the health of the Global Ecosystems.
The Use of Economics as a Powerful Driver for MegaTransformation through Ecotourism-Related Activities, Creation of Co-Op Wilderness Preserves, A Global Network of Marine & Coral-Reef Parks, and “Virtual Safaris” into the Wilderness, Ocean Depths, and Outer Space.
Slide 37
VI Global Strategies for Waste Reduction, Treatment & Recycling
Slide 38
BioWaste: a Renewable Resource
Animal Waste is a major cause of water pollution! A typical pig farm in the U.S. produces waste equivalent to a city of 12,000 people! Every second, 86,600 lbs. of animal waste is produced! This equals 130 times the amount of human waste produced by the entire Planet!
Modern agriculture production relies heavily on chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and antibiotics. These chemicals cause major ground and surface water pollution.
International Bio-Recovery Corporation has a new technology to solve these major problems: Their thermophylic bacterial process converts biodegradable, organic human and animal wastes into pathogen-free, nutrient-rich organic fertilizer…accelerating the natural process from years, to 72 hours!
This new technology is a viable global alternative to expensive landfill and waste incineration. Revenue is also generated from collection of wastes and sale of fertilizer products.

Slide 39
Industrial Ecology & Co-generation
“Industrial Ecology” integrates industrial systems together.…like natural ecosystems…where one organism’s waste becomes another’s food. Kalundburg, Denmark, has developed a model for key industrial firms, where one firm’s waste becomes another’s raw resource.
Waste heat from the local power plant warms area homes, businesses, & fish farms. Excess steam goes to oil refining and biotech companies. Sulfur dioxide in the power plant’s smokestack is converted to gypsum, which goes to a nearby wall board factory.
The power plant uses the refinery wastewater for cooling & operating the smokestack scrubbers. Sludge from a wastewater treatment plant is sold to a local soil remediation company, that grows pollution-eating bacteria. Fly ash from the power station is sold to cement makers.
All companies saved money, & reduced pollution, and consumption of water, energy, & other resources.

Denmark has emerged as a world
Slide 40
Essential Strategies for Global Waste Reduction, Treatment, & Recycling
Establish Global Packaging Standards – To reduce and eliminate unnecessary packaging materials, resulting in tremendous savings of raw materials, energy, & money.
Create “Environmentally Friendly” Packaging Materials – That are biologically degradable, and can be recycled into other environmentally friendly materials.
Develop Efficient Technologies to “Mine” Landfills – Producing physical and organic waste streams, that can be separated into useful components.
Apply Bioremediation Techniques - Using Natural selection, and Bio- Engineering to “process” human, animal, and organic waste, into useful products, such as organic fertilizers, fuel, building materials, and paper.
Apply Photodeactivation Technology – To transform hazardous nuclear wastes on-site into harmless and recyclable by-products.
Slide 41
VII Global Guidelines For Sustainable Human Ecologies
Slide 42
Impact of Human Ecology on the Global Biosphere
The land occupied by the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport is equal to a 6-foot swath from coast to coast!

Slide 43
Global Strategies for Sustainable Urban Ecologies
Functional Integrated “City Systems,” replace Urban Sprawl with personal living spaces, arranged in Community, or Hi-Rise Clusters. Tree-Lined Pathways favor Pedestrians, Bikes, and Small Electric Vehicles.
New Urban Ecologies use Clean Energy, Quiet Mass Transport, & Efficient Waste- Management. Parks, Artistic Greenspaces, and “Green Commons” complement living space, & encourage community activity.
Comfortable, Efficient Mass-Transit links cities and community clusters. Rental vehicles provide travel to areas not served by mass transport.
Multi-Use Domed Sports Complexes provide venues for stadium events. Surrounding lakes, rivers, & forest parks provide unlimited recreational activities. Other nearby areas are designated for food production.
Futuristic Domed Cities like Doug Michel’s “Lone Star City,” establish new Sustainable Ecology Habitat Paradigms. Such “Urban Ecologies of the Future” . Integrate Living Space with Natural Space, creating a renewed sense of Community Spirit.
Slide 44
VIII Efficient, Clean Global Mass-Transit Systems
Slide 45
“Sky Cat” Unique Hybrid Airship
SkyCat hybridizes two transportation technologies…The Non-Rigid Airship, & the Hovercraft. It combines lighter-than-air, & heavier-than-air Technologies.
SkyCat derives from “Sky” plus “Cat,” which stands for the twin-hulled catamaran design, combining an aerodynamic lifting body, with stability associated with ocean-going catamarans. Advanced design also incorporates the versatility of a Hovercraft, with hi-tech, lightweight materials; & advanced light-weight propulsion technologies. A Unique Bow Thruster System facilitates vertical takeoffs and landings anywhere…on land, or water, with minimal crew.
The Smallest Model, the SkyCat 20 is a 266 feet long, offers a spacious cabin with wide seats, and 3’x 6’ windows. It cruises at 75 knots at altitudes up to 9000 feet. Cruising range is 2,000 nautical miles.
SkyCat Aircraft Range up to 1000 feet in length, carry payloads of 1,000 tons, & cruise at 100 knots, for up to 10,000 nautical miles. These aircraft are designed to carry cargo over moderate to great distances at rates significantly lower than conventional aircraft, & only slightly higher than for sea freight. Cargo can be picked up & dropped off anywhere ( Direct Producer-to-Customer Delivery).

Slide 46
“Aerobus” Futuristic Mass-Transit
Aerobus is a Self-Propelled Modular Light-Rail Transport System, running on aluminum tracks, suspended from steel cables. It is silent, safe, climate-controlled, & environmentally friendly. It runs at speeds from 60 to 100 kph, and can be installed over existing freeways, roads, or rail lines.
Narrow steel, or concrete pylons support the cables, which route Aerobus over freeways, buildings, rivers, and obstructions that prohibit other transport technologies. Thin, unobtrusive pylons, normally spaced 200-600m apart, can be extended to 600m…a distance 10-15 times that for more massive monorail columns.
Modular units may be added or removed according to passenger traffic, with up to 12 modules combining to make a “train” capable of carrying 400 people at 80 kph. By spacing trains one minute apart, capacity equals 20,000 passengers per hour per direction.
Slide 47
Aerobus modules can be designed to transport freight, using unique bottom-loading-container designs. Minimal disruption of highway traffic is necessary for pylon installation; ground traffic congestion is avoided; cost is less than with traditional monorails; and the system can be built more quickly.
The Aerobus Concept was first developed 30 years ago by Swiss Inventor and Engineer, Gerhard Mueller. Early commercial prototypes carried over 2.5 million passengers. The modern Aerobus incorporates four generations of technological refinements, and has received favorable approval from the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and the Urban Mass-Transit Assn. The first modern Aerobus System is currently being installed in Chonging, China.
A Major Global Shift from Individual Vehicles to Fast, Efficient Mass-Transit involves a shift from “The auto as a 4-wheeled extension of the Ego,” to “Transportation as efficient, hassle-free movement from point to point.”
A Global Shift from Internal Combustion/Fossil Fuel Travel, to Environmentally Compatible, Zero-Pollution Vehicles, & Fast, Efficient Mass Transport Systems.
A Shift from Inefficient “Space-Intensive Vehicles” to effectively “compress” existing highway space, increasing efficiency by factors of a hundredfold.
Light-Rail & Elevated Transport Systems can utilize existing highway rights-of- way, providing individual park-&-ride passengers with convenient access to urban centers via quiet, comfortable, efficient mass transportation.
Intermodality Standards would allow for transfer of passengers & freight by creating efficient connections between air, rail, sea, and individual transport.
New Transportation Technologies such as Hi-Tech Airships would eliminate expensive airport complexes. Transcontinental Travel could be improved using Electromagnetic Propulsion Technologies, Sea Surface Skimmer Craft, Hypersonic Space Planes, & Transcontinental Airships.
Slide 50
IX A Planetary Shift from Consumption-Driven to Ecologically-Centered Lifestyles
Slide 51
The earth is under siege by us. We have been transformed into insatiable consumers. The issue before the Eskimos is not whether they need refrigerators, but how they can buy them and use them. For most humans, consumption is the central purpose of life.
…Source: Carlos Hernandez, Rashmi Mayur, 1999 – Pedagogy of the Earth.
Slide 52
An Over-Consuming Culture
Human activity draws down Earth’s finite resources far faster than natural processes can regenerate them.
We are consuming genetic resources 1000 to 10,000 times as fast as Evolution produces them.
We consume topsoil much faster than Nature can restore it.
Each year, 30 billion tons of Earth’s topsoil is lost to erosion.
Losing topsoil has about the same effect as a person losing blood…only so much can be lost.
Normal consumption for us will probably be regarded by future society as pathologically excessive!
…Source Ed Ayres, 1999 – God’s Last Offer: Negotiating for a Sustainable Future, pp. 34,35.
Slide 53
Should We Revise Our Priorities??
According to a recent news item, the average salary for a professional baseball player is 1.8 million dollars!!
Slide 54
The Cultural Creatives
“Since the 1960’s 26 percent of the adults in the United States – 50 million people – have made a comprehensive shift in their worldviews, values, and way of life – their culture, in short. These creative, optimistic millions are at the leading edge of several kinds of cultural change, deeply affecting not only their own lives, but our larger society as well. We call them the Cultural Creatives, because innovation by innovation, they are shaping a new kind of American culture for the twenty-first century.”
…Paul H. Ray & S.R. Anderson, 2000 – The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People are Changing the World.
Slide 55
“The ‘messiah’ of tomorrow is not a man, or even a son of man, but a spiritual force field generated by many human beings who share one thing in common – their individual search for themselves. Every seeker will be buoyed up by the presence of the others’ urge for spiritual transformation. Aloneness breeds togetherness. With their people, the Aquarian masters will dissolve themselves into a new phenomenon in the evolution of enlightenment, the mass presence of the greater Messiah called the Buddhafield.”

Slide 56
Global Strategies for A Sustainable Lifestyle
A Shift from Over-Consumption & Over-Accumulation of Material Wealth to a quest for Spiritual Wealth and Fulfillment, and levels of consumption, which lie within reasonable boundaries of sustainability relative to the Global Biosphere.
A Major Shift from Materialism and Self-Aggrandizement to a focus on developing the subtle-energy aspects of the human potential…thus achieving new levels of sensitivity to other human and biological life forms, and an active participation in the regeneration & maintenance of the Planetary Biosphere.
Redirection of the Human Drive for Genetic Reproduction into new channels of Service, Creativity, and Consciousness Development for the universal benefit of present and future generations.
A Shift from Wasteful, Polluting Activities and Technologies to unique “Green” Activities and Technologies, which would function within a framework of Conservation, Interactive Energy Exchange, & Efficient Waste-Stream Processing.
A Major Movement to Bring Art & Creativity Back into Science, Medicine, Business, and Education, with a concurrent attitudinal shift from a spirit of competition, one of mutual support and cooperation within a global framework.
Slide 57
X. Worldwide Shift from a Meat-Based Diet to a Protein-Based Diet
Slide 58
Environmental Cost of Eating Meat
In the U.S. over 30% of raw materials & fossil fuels are used for raising farm animals. Energy to produce one hamburger patty is sufficient to drive a small car 20 miles.
87% of all U.S agricultural land is used to produce farm animals. A quarter-acre produces a year’s worth of vegetarian food…Land use for a meat-based equivalent is 3 acres (A 12-fold increase).
Over 50% U.S. water consumption is used to raise farm animals. A meat-based diet requires 4,200 gallons of water per day.
Raising food animals is the primary cause of planetary deforestation, destroying 125,000 sq. mi. per year. A 1/4lb burger requires 55 sq. ft. of rainforest to produce.
Raising food animals is the major cause of water pollution in the U.S. Waste produced is 130 times the amount produced by the entire human population. A typical pig farm generates waste equivalent to a city of 12,000.
…Source – John Robbins, 1987 – Diet for a New America
Slide 59
It’s A Fish-Eat-Fish World
For 1 pound of farm salmon produced, 2-5 pounds of ocean fish are caught to feed them.
By farming vegetarian fish, we short out the food chain, and avoid depleting ocean stocks.
Scallops, Mussels, & Oysters are filter feeders, and are thus efficient in terms of energy.
Fish & Shrimp Farms should not be allowed to replace natural wetlands and mangrove forests.
Waste water must be treated before discharge into the ocean.
Slide 60
Global Strategies: A Shift from Meat to Protein-Based Diets
A Shift From Land-Intensive Eco-Inefficient Meat Production to Free-Range Poultry, Farming Vegetarian Fish, & Intensive Aquaculture..
A Shift From Meat-Based Meals to meat, and fish as flavoring, creating, tasty, high-energy soups, salads, & stir-fry meals.
A Shift from Processed Foods to Natural Foods, adding more fiber, & eliminating hormones, fillers, and artificial additives.
A Shift From a Fat- & Sugar-Laden Junk Foods to attractive, well-balanced meals, which feed Body, Mind & Spirit.
A Major Shift to Eco-Efficient, Single-Cell Protein as a Global Food Resource. Creation of “Superfoods,” made from Marine Yeasts, Algae, and Zooplankton.
A Shift from a Food-Centered Lifestyle to a diet based on Nutritional Excellence, Moderation, and Natural Quality…A shift from “Living to Eat,” to “Eating to Live.”

Slide 62
Spirulina: Nature’s Superfood
This microscopic blue-green algae was a basic food source for Aztecs in Mexico, and natives peoples in Africa.
Spirulina contains 70% protein, compared with 20% for meat, and is the highest whole-food source of Vitamin B-12.
Spirulina is 95% digestible, and contains all 9 essential amino acids, plus 9 non-essential ones.
Spirulina is 25 times higher in beta carotene than carrots, has 28 times more iron than beef liver, and 56 times more iron than spinach or steak.
It is rich in glycogen for quick energy, and higher in chlorophyll than alfalfa, or wheat grass. NASA has chosen it as a hi-energy food for space travel.

“It is remarkable that science, itself, using its own methods, has validated the reality of the four major psychic phenomena. Instances of telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and psychokinesis have been verified repeatedly in thoughtful laboratory research projects. Further, such abilities are not rare, but seem to be widely distributed among the population.”

Historical Perspectives
Johan Kepler (1571-1630) A Founding Father of Astronomy on planetary motion…was a Court Astrologer.
Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) took time off to write Principia Mathematica, and Optica. His principal field of interest was Alchemy.
We select from an individual’s work what we consider to be relevant and ignore the rest as if it were an insignificant aberration, not a major part of the person’s thinking.

“Our ability to forecast future happenings, and to psychically influence healing at a distance, may be seen as miracles, because they seem to contradict presently understood laws of science. We believe, however, they are caused not by the supernatural, but by the capabilities of what physicists have come to call our ‘Nonlocal Mind.’ This fascinating and not yet fully understood phenomenon that connects us to each other and to the world at large allows us to describe, experience, and influence activities occurring anywhere in space and time.”

“Conspicuous ancient monuments like Stonehenge, Avebury, Carnac, and the Great Pyramid along with many thousands of smaller stone circles, earthworks, and holy places mark the earth’s power centers all over the world. While ancient monuments are from another time and culture, the use of stone and earth to design uplifting and inspiring sacred spaces is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.”

Radionics A Quantum Technology
Radionics deals with the interactions of Matter, Energy, & Consciousness, and is based on the research of Dr. Albert Abrams in the early 1900’s.
In 1910 through the 1940’s Dr. Abrams and subsequent researchers developed an electronic device which employed: 1) A Radio Frequency Amplifier, 2) A Variable Condenser Tuning System, & 3) Non-Inductive Resistance. These healing devices apparently created a Subtle-Energy Consciousness Linkage between healer and patient.
An organic sample, or a Polaroid photograph of the patient was placed in the Tuning Well of the instrument. A plastic “Rubbing Plate” was used to align the operator’s energy fields with the specimen in the well. When subtle energy fields of the operator and patient were aligned, a resistance occurred on the rubbing plate, and could then be assigned a set of numerical valued on calibrated dials.
Once a numerical value set, or “rate,” has been determined for a given condition, the instrument is switched into “Broadcast Mode,” and the patient is treated for several minutes overa period of days.
Slide 72
Hundreds of patients, considered “terminal” by conventional medicine, were successfully cured by Radionics. However, the unorthodox design of the instruments created tremendous resistance from the AMA, which banned the technology in the United States. It is still credentialed for medical healing in England and parts of Europe.
A controversial aspect of Radionics is that the technology functions in a “Quantum Modality” independent of conventional space-time. Radionic healings are routinely accomplished, with practitioner and patient being hundreds of miles apart.
The best recently documented cases of successful Radionics have been in Agricultural Radionics, where crop yields improved without fertilizer, and pests were eradicated without pesticides. In Veterinary science, race horses, cattle, & pets have been successfully treated.
Radionic Instrumentation has evolved from tube to modern miniaturized solid-state units. Recently, very sophisticated diagnostic & treatment software programs have been developed for use with modern laptop computers.
Radionics Applications for Planetary Healing – For a modest investment, an International Center for Planetary Restoration could be established. This Center would combine Environmental Monitoring & Satellite Technology with effective Radionic Methodologies to efficiently monitor, balance, and repair our Planetary Ecosystems.

The Eyes of Gaiia
The space around Earth is filled with Satellites, that record & transmit data back to groundside computers.
Satellites penetrate clouds, detecting changes in vegetation, land use, and surface temperatures. Other Satellites measure changes in sea level, sea surface temperatures, plankton blooms, ocean winds, and polar ice sheet thickness.
Other types of “Eyes” include: Weather Monitoring Satellites, The International Space Station, the Hubble Space Telescope, an Earth-Orbital UV Telescope, & and Satellites launched into outer space to study the Sun, Planets, and Comets.
As sensory data from the satellites, is fed into Earth’s Global Communications Network, Earth’s Planetary Self-Awareness (The Global Brain) should evolve correspondingly. A new Awareness of our Solar System (Solar Consciousness), and Galaxy (Galactic Consciousness), should also be incorporated at increasing rates.
Following this line of thinking, the extraordinary evolution of our planetary consciousness should be reflected in equally profound changes in the Global Biosphere, and in Human Consciousness Itself.
