She was born on April 11, 1959 in La Habana, Cuba; she is a Cuban-American lawyer, who has become famous among U.S. Hispanic and Latin American in its role as a referee in “Case Closed”.

She has married early; she lost a son and separated. Faster had a son, Peter, and got married again 2001. During the nineties, she has worked as an expert lawyer on shows of Maria Laria, Cristina Saralegui, Wake up America, Univision's Newscasters and Teleworld (Telemundo).

She has participated in the telethon of Chile in 2008 also the magazine People magazine named her one of the 25th most influential Hispanic women. She has also won four GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), and the foundation LULAC (League Of United Latin American Citizen) the award for his tireless support for women. Additionally, she has been recognized by the governor of Connecticut, Nevada Senate, Congress of Puerto Rico and its Mayor, for social and humanitarian work.

For been a referee, Dr. Polo has been honored with awards, ACE, 2003 and 2004 in New York City, the Torch Award from the FIU University, the Hispanic Business Salute 2006 in San Jose, California, and The Hispanic Alliance "Our Town" Award in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in addition to the Paoli Awards 2006 in Puerto Rico She is a survivor of breast cancer; she has continued its unconditional support for the Susan G. Komen in various events of the institution, as well as his support of St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital for children
