Update on progress LRBC Church meeting 27 Jan 2011

Slide 2

The two essential strands of BUILD 1. Maintaining the premises 2. Changing and enhancing the premises

Slide 3

Maintaining the premises What we have been up to: The dropped kerb to the church car park has been extended Re-configuring the Stables car park

Slide 4

Changing the premises Resolution: “The trustees of Leigh Road Baptist Church are empowered by the church members to sign the Intermediate Building Contract 2005 with contractor’s design Revision 2 2009 with the building contractor selected after competitive tender and with any necessary negotiations to undertake the works”.

Slide 5

Changing the premises Since the last church meeting the Professional and Development teams have been working hard to conclude the final detailed design of the project and prepare the tender documentation

Slide 6

Changing the premises Five contractors have been invited to tender. The selection was based upon advice given by our professional team.

Slide 7

Changing the premises Each contractor will price the documentation and return a tender form which states the total cost of all the work Specified.

Slide 8

Changing the premises The tender documentation was issued to the contractors on Wednesday 26 January 2011

Slide 9

Changing the premises All tenders will be returned to our Quantity Surveyor, Hoggarth Cook by Friday 25 February 2011 The tenders will be opened here on Monday 28 February 2011

Slide 10

Changing the premises The Quantity Surveyor will schedule the priced documentation from all the contractors. This helps him to establish the value of the lowest tender submitted. If the tender selected is higher than our budget savings will be made

Slide 11

Changing the premises Once the figure has been agreed, Hoggarth Cooke will provide a tender report. This will form the basis of the recommendation from Project Board to Leadership and Leadership to the Church Meeting

Slide 12

Changing the premises At the next church meeting on 25 March, church members will be in invited to vote to accept the tender and appoint the Contractor.

Slide 13

Changing the premises Further to that meeting contracts will be promptly signed between the contractor and LRBC, hence the requirement for this resolution The aim is to start work on site on Tuesday 3 May 2011.
