How To Become Aware of Steroid Abuse

When we turn on Sports Center or pick a copy of the New York Times we will most likely see some reference to the problem of steroid abuse in sports. With the recent explosion of stories about steroids in Major League Baseball many people who may not have had any awareness of steroid abuse, now have an understanding of the effects steroids are having on our society. For those who are seeking more knowledge, here is your road map.

Step 1: Become Aware of the Issue To Do: Examine both of these sources for information on the issue of steroids in sports

The Book below was written by  Mark Fainaru-Wada and Lance Williams, reporters for the San Francisco Chronicle. The book is about an investigation of Balco , formally one of the largest steroid suppliers in sports.

This second source is a report put together by a U.S. senator named George Mitchell. Mitchell compiled the report for Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig. The report documents the players involved in steroid use, and the large role steroids now plays in sports.
