Sun The Sun is the closest star to the planet Earth. It takes the Sun 200 million years to orbit the center of the Milky way galaxy once, traveling at 150 miles per second.
Mercury The length of one day on Mercury is equal to 58 Earth days. Mercury is 1/3 the size of Earth.
Venus It is the second planet from the Sun. It is the only planet that spins backwards clockwise.
Earth Earth is the only planet that has living beings on it. Earth is estimated to be 4.5 million years old.
Mars Mars has the largest volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons, 168 miles high and 370 miles in diameter. The length of one year on Mars is 687 earth days.
Jupiter Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System. The planet Jupiter has 4 very faint rings.
Saturn Saturn has 33 moons. The rings of Saturn are made up of ice and dust that orbit the planet.
Uranus Uranus takes 84 years to orbit the Sun. Uranus has at least 27 moons.
Neptune Neptune has at least 13 moons. It takes almost 165 years for Neptune to make one rotation around the Sun.
Pluto It takes 248 years for Pluto to orbit the Sun. Pluto is smaller than Earths moon.
