Roman Colosseum The Roman Colosseum was built between AD 70 and 90 Started by Vespasian 68-79 AD, was later inaugurated by Titus in about 79 to 81 AD, although it had been finalized just a few years later. Colossal undertaking, the building initially inside could sustain about 50 000 spectators,    on three floors.

Curiosities Although now in ruins due to earthquakes and looting, the Coliseum has always been seen as a symbol of the Roman Empire, one of the best examples of their architecture. He is currently a major tourist attraction in Rome and July 7, 2007 was voted one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. " In addition, the Coliseum still has ties to the church with the Pope to lead the procession of the Via Sacra to the Coliseum all the Good Fridays.
