Roman Colosseum The Roman Colosseum was built between AD 70 and 90 Started by Vespasian 68-79 AD, was later inaugurated by Titus in about 79 to 81 AD, although it had been finalized just a few years later. Colossal undertaking, the building initially inside could sustain about 50 000 spectators, on three floors.
