Poetry Unit Aim: What is a role model and what affect do they have on your life? Do Now: Make a list of people in your life that you want to be like. Write down at least three people and one sentence explaining why you want to be like each person. Remember one sentence for each person.
Vocabulary Role Model- (noun) a person we want to be like.
Lifelong- (adjective) Lasting your entire life. Pomegranate- (noun) Round fruit with red skin and many juicy seeds. Convince - (verb) To cause someone to believe that something is true.
Scholar - (noun) A person who has learned much through study. Perpetual - (adjective) Continuing or lasting forever.
Activity 1 Think of a role model in your life and fill in the circles in the web. Please use complete sentences.
HOMEWORK *Choose another role model in your life and use the handout the describe your role model. Fill in the circles just like we did in class, but use a NEW person. This role model MUST be different than the one you chose in class! *Also, Translate each vocabulary word in your native language.
