Class 5^ c Hello Friends! Here we are!
We present you two typical folk dances: called “La Mazurka Scambiata” and “La Raspa”.
THE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT USED FOR THIS DANCE IS A TWO BASS ACCORDION CALLED “LA DDU BBOTTE” 2695-3954 4080-5887 THESE TWO FOLK DANCES, ORIGINATED DURING THE HARVESTING CORN AFTER A HARD DAY IN THE FIELDS. IT IS A COUPLE DANCE THAT DEVELOPS IN A CIRCULAR COUNTER CLOCKWISE. THE COUPLES GO TO THE CENTRE OF THE CIRCLE CLAPPING THEIR HANDS. THEN THE KNIGHT LEAVES THE LADY AND HE GOES TO THE LADY ON IS RIGHT TO FORM COUPLES WHO COMPLETE A LAP DANCE ON THEMSELVES BY RETURNING TO THE STARTING POSITION THE KNIGHT IN RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION MAKES ONE STEP WITH THE LADY ON HIS LEFT. The origin of these folk dances The southern part of Abruzzo contains without a doubt the best preserved folklore of the region despite the emigration of the last century, the social fabric still boasts a rich cultural heritage, with strong ties to a traditional runal and pastoral society, especially in the mountainous regions of the interior. An amazing number of dances have been well-preserved in this part of Abruzzo displaying both indigenus elements and varations incorporated from dance traditions from other regions.
