Fiction Anything that is not fact. This can be fantasy, mystery, science-fiction, realistic, historical, and many others.

Fantasy Fiction with settings and character that are strange or seem to be from a different world. They may be magical.

Historical Fiction Story with fictional characters and events in a historical setting.

Humor Fiction full of fun, fancy, and excitement, meant to entertain. Sometimes humor can be found in other types of books.

Mystery Want to solve crimes or discover secrets?

Realistic Fiction These stories could really happen, but the characters are make-believe.

Science Fiction These usually take place in the future or on other planets. They are based on some element of science or technology.

Non-fiction Books based on fact. These can include bibliographies, poetry, factual books, and more.

Biography A true story about a real person.

Poetry Verse and rhythmic writing with imagery that creates emotional responses.
