Sell. Keep selling. Then sell even more. Keep selling until there is no more to sell or no-one to sell to.

Focus on what you want to achieve. Lack of awareness is an issue – whether a mobile site or a native app. Think of the overall journey and how what you create will support it. (or support the relationship or the task you need the user to complete etc)

Focus on what you need to achieve, and your users. Then, the means will become clearer.
Define you business goal. Understand your consumers. THEN, and only THEN, create a strategy to get them to work together. The means will be secondary. (it’s the content, not the platform)

What is the point?
I want mobile My boss wants mobile Our competitors are doing mobile EVERTHING IS MOBILE
We have the cure
Mobile Interactions The hype cycle is eating us up Results are poor: 80% of branded apps have less than 1000 downloads (Deloitte/Guardian) Web so poor Nielsen says don’t bother Marginally better than sturgeon’s law 90% of everything is crud
OK, so what’s wrong? Technology & vendor led marketing Consumer focus rather than user focus Lack of critical thought
Nothing Changes
And… Relax…
Summary: Native or Web doesn't matter. It's all being done pretty badly. Avoid this by focussing on what you want to achieve (business goal) and on your users. The means will then be a lot easier to define. It's the content, not the platform
