FRACTIONS: MULTIPLYING MIXED NUMBERS
Let’s Do This One Together:
STEP 1. Convert the mixed fraction to an improper fraction. STEP 1B. Put the answer from 1A over the old denominator. STEP 1A. Multiply the denominator by the whole number, then add the numerator.
Our New Problem Looks Like This:
STEP 2. Multiply our numerators together and multiply our denominators together.
STEP 3. Convert to a mixed fraction. (because the original fraction was in that form) STEP 3A. Divide your denominator into your numerator STEP 3B. Multiply your denominator by your new whole number STEP 3C. Subtract your the answer from STEP 3B from your old numerator
