The Food Safety Inter-Agency Program or FSIAP was conceptualized because there is an apparent need to collaborate with different agencies in relation to harmonizing efforts, activities, promotion, and implementation of Food Safety Management Programs in the CALABARZON.

TO DATE, WE ARE GLAD THAT 10 AGENCY PARTNERS HAVE COMMITTED TO SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENT THE OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES OF THE PROGRAM...   Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources IV-A Center for Health Development IV-A Department of Agriculture IV-A Development Academy of the Philippines Department of Interior and Local Government IV-A Department of Science and Technology IV-A Department of Trade and Industry IV-A Food and Drug Administration National Meat Inspection Services IV-A Technology Resource Center

The main objective of FSIAP is: To uplift the global competitiveness of the food industry PRIMARILY IN THE CALABARZON through compliance to regulatory and international standards by providing them the necessary technical consultancy and commercialization needs on food safety management.

Thorough a Memorandum of Understanding, All member-agencies agreed to join efforts to promote Food Safety in the CALABARZON Region by initiating and implementing projects related to the promotion of Food Safety and to harmonize food safety efforts throughout the food chain.

One of these projects or activities is the conduct of seminar-series. This afternoon, we are launching the FSIAP FOOD SAFETY WEBINAR SERIES, THIS IS A Web-based Seminar or online seminar, a seminar conducted through the internet.

Just like the traditional seminar, there is an organizer, a speaker, and audiences. In traditional seminar, there is a physical venue wherein the attendees can interact.

While webinars are not limited by physical space; the organizer, speaker, and members of the audience can be located separately. This allows us to reach more audiences, thus, a greater number of individuals who can benefit to the different food safety-related topics that members of the FSIAP can provide.
