The World and I Online Subscription has been accumulating a wealth of timeless articles written by scholars and experts and features more than 8,000 cultural images, 2,000 teacher lesson plans, book reviews, original multimedia applications, and Special Collections of theme based articles. A choice of teacher’s guide activities are categorized by the National Standards. The World and I offers a free weekly English as a Second Language online program,  and a free weekly Spanish Learning Program.

In primary grades students are establishing the foundations for future learning; developing their knowledge of language, computation, logic, and analysis; and forming an understanding of the natural world and society that surround them. The Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies courses feature spiraled curricula that provide additional tools to help teach, guide, and clarify concepts for those who need it. Odyssey applies innovative teaching methods within a rich, interactive learning environment, using flash-based activities — complete with sound and animation — to teach and review concepts. All Odyssey courses are based on current and confirmed research about the way students think and learn.

Renzulli Learning is a Web-based learning coach that allows teachers or parents to use differentiated curriculum by creating individualized assessment of each child’s interests and preferred methods of engagement learning. It also delivers customized learning experiences to help them think and learn based on their personal strengths. It provides strength-based achievement; assists teachers; and raises student test scores. Renzulli Learning promotes engagement by fostering the love of learning among students.

Our tendency has been to focus on developing knowledge, skills, and creative talents while neglecting the more fundamental dimensions of educating people to become good. The result of this overemphasis has been the education of people with high levels of professional abilities that do not possess moral standards commensurate with their influence and responsibility. Thus, we have computer specialists using their knowledge to create viruses whose sole purpose is to destroy the workings of thousands of computers, or creative artists who use their talents to propagate sexual exploitation and violence. The challenge for education in the 21st century is to correct the current imbalance. To neglect doing so is actually dangerous. As our power to control and manipulate our physical universe grows, the need to channel that power through morality grows too.

The goal of Uplifting Education is to have three inter-related objectives that intertwine to give our full support to the enrolled families.

Although Phase One has already been completed, since it is online, there will be a continual development.

While the great online study is the external goal, the internal goal is to inspire a personal motivation within each student.

Phase Two has begun but it will continue to develop and expand.

The featured online community is the Community Forum to introduce new people, support the enrolled families. The Compass Learning Odyssey and the Renzulli Learning System both have their community features as well. These will be utilized to create learning groups that will eventually create enrichment co-ops in Stage Three based on location, interest, and grades.

Phase Three has not begun because Stage Two and the number of enrolled families need to expand. Our goal is to begin developing Phase Three in 2013. It will begin in areas where the number of enrollees will support it. Gradually, we hope to have co-ops across the nation and internationally. What each co-op enrichment center offers will depend on the participants and their parents . Eventually, national and international coordinated events will take place as well as management and professional training.
