CHRISTMAS PRESENTS Santa Claus gives the presents to the children. He gives toys to small children. Teenagers can get a musical instrument, a videogame, clothes or something to eat. Instead of buying a present you can make your own gift.

HOW IS CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED IN THE USA In the USA, the 1st day in Christmas time is Thanksgiving Day. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, since the beginning  of the 19th century.

They decorate their houses with lots of lights and a big Christmas tree. They decorate it with Christmas decorations, they put it on Christmas Eve.

The family gathers to have lunch together. The tradicional meal is roasted turkey, pumpkey pie and cranberry sauce.

In the morning of Christmas Day the children all the family open the presents that Santa Claus give to them under the Christmas tree.

The Turkey: Is the most famous meal of USA Christmas. Sometimes the turkey is replaced by ducks or geese. Typical Meals

Side Dishes: Turkey often goes accompanied with cranberry sauce, potatoes and in some cases with vegetables like green beans or salads.

Drinks: In this dinner they often drink: cider, wine, champagne…
