IMPORTANT DAYS

24th December: It’s Christmas Eve , all the family have dinner together , sometimes also with friends. At night , Santa Claus brings presents to good children and he leaves them inside christmas stockings 25th December: It is Christmas day! Children open their presents (which have been left under the christmas tree or inside their christmas socks by Santa Claus ) People usually have dinner with their family and friends

31st December: It’s New Year’s Eve. It is the last day of the year and all the families have dinner and enjoy themselves , they dance , they sing and they eat and drink with their friends and families. Americans decorate a big christmas tree which is situated in Rockefeller Centre , in Manhattan. They decorate it in late November or early December

HOW IS IT CELEBRATED?

Decoration Americans decorate Christmas trees with lights candler and many other ornaments. They put it in the living room . They also decorate their houses with christmas cards which have been sent by their family or friends , candles… People in the USA love to decorate their gardens and houses with lots of colorful lights

Church People who ara religious usually go to the Midnight Mass in Christmas to pray and give thanks to God.

FOOD

Americans usually eat meat , like turkey or roast beef at Christmas , but they sometimes eat fish. They can eat them with potatoes ,ham, roasted vegetables or cranberry sauce. As desserts , they can eat mince pie or the traditional christmas puddinng.

PRESENTS

Presents Santa Claus is who gives presents to good children in the USA (and in many other countries too). On the 24th december , he travels around the world bringing gifts to little boys and little girls , and leving presents under the Christmas tree or inside children’s socks
