Expectations today: No phones, texts, or e-mails No other websites You will learn how to navigate through this system. You will not learn every screen or detail of the system. Full manuals are available on the KMC Intranet
Security and Confidentiality Information in this system is readily available to all staff; it is more important than ever to keep patient confidentiality in mind and only access information for the patients for whom you are caring.
Confidentiality and Security: Do not allow others the use of your password and do not attempt to use the password or access privileges of another. Use and keep your password and all other electronic information in strict confidence. It is important to only access patients’ information on a need to know basis!
Need to Know Defined: Information about patients, customers, and employees should only be shared with those who need to know the information in order to perform their jobs. Employees must have a patient’s approval before sharing information with anyone. Friends and family members do not have an automatic right to an adult patient’s confidential information.
Individual Access: You are liable and responsible for everything that is charted under YOUR login. Your password is considered your electronic signature. NEVER LEAVE A COMPUTER UNATTENDED WHILE YOU ARE LOGGED ON OR SHARE YOUR PASSWORD WITH ANYBODY. For added security, this system will close your session after several minutes if you are not actively using the screens.
Logging in to Meditech 6.0 Locate the Compass Meditech 6.0 icon on the desktop Double click on the icon to bring up the Citrix login window.
Logging in to Meditech 6.0 Log in with your user name, which is your first and last name separated by only a period. Type in the temporary password given to you. You will be prompted to change your temporary password. It must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one number. You will be prompted to change your password every three months. You will then be prompted to change your temporary PIN given to you. Create a 4-digit PIN; you will not have to reset this number.

Logging in to Meditech 6.0 Enter your temporary password below, then create your new password. Remember, this is case sensitive.
Logging in to Meditech 6.0 Once logged in, you will see the Meditech login screen. Choose the TEST icon for training. You will utilize the LIVE icon in your clinical setting.
Logging in to Meditech 6.0 Once the screen below opens, choose either KOM.TEST60F or KOM.LIVE60F and click Signon.
Logging Off of Meditech 6.0 Be sure to properly log out of Meditech by closing out of all Meditech windows using the “X” in the upper right hand corner. If you see this screen below with your name on it, click log off.
