What Happened? 8:45- American Airlines flight 11 crashes into North Tower 9:03- United Airlines flight 175 crashes into South Tower 9:37-American Airlines flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon 10:03- United Airlines flight 93 crashes into a field in Shanksville, Pennsilvaniya

-Planning- Khalid Sheikh Mohammed presented the Idea to Osama Bin Laden in 1996. They choose to go with the planes they did because they were light on passengers. There were 19 Hijackers People inside fought for their lives There are recorded phone calls from inside the planes

Inside the Towers The Conditions above the impact were hot and smoky. The air became un-breathable and the water was cut off. All Stairwells were inaccessible to people above impact. In the South Tower people were told to stay inside.

-Some chose to jump-

Others went with the Towers South Tower Collapsed at 9:58am North Tower Collapsed at 10:28am People trapped inside went down with them Some below could not run fast enough from the falling debris

Future The Freedom Tower will take the Twin Towers place. It will be among the worlds tallest buildings Projected date of completion = 2011 There will be a museum inside of September 11th and a memorial of those who were lost.

Death toll = 2,974
