One can choose a leaf from a tree and dedicate all love to it. But, what about the branch that produced the leaf? And the trunk that holds the branch? And the bark that protects the trunk? And the roots that feed the bark, the branches and the leaves? And the soil that covers the roots? And the sun, the air and the sea that give life to the soil? The love that cuts a fraction of the whole is not truly love. I End
Never discuss or argue about the Supreme Truth, for the arguments will never have an end. Instead of being involved with useless words, it is wiser to be silent. It is completely useless to debate about spiritual matters. Noisy proclamations about the Truth must not be made. The greatest testimony is made by one's conduct. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
We must syntonize the body, the mind and the senses with the constant pulsation of nature so that we can enter into harmony with all things in creation, even if they are temporary. We must be in harmony with all things that surround us, for all of them, animate or inanimate, are similar to us. I End
As long as men antagonize the supreme manifestation, they will be antagonized by it, because what is necesssary for physical life will be denied them. The law of cause and effect acts in this way. One reaps according to what one sows. He who sows thorns will harvest thorns, but he who sows wheat will harvest the essence of the bread that nourishes and satisfies. I End
There is a time for everything. The worst thing is to add to the daily occupations the worries of tomorrow. Each day has its own afflictions, and each contains its own joys and experiences. We can add nothing to our own stature. We cannot make the lilies of the field bloom nor can we pass them without noticeing their presence when they bloom in the spring. I End
Observe each living creature of the universe with love and you will understand that all that you do, retain or break is manifested and controlled by Supreme Love, by the blessedness of the Divine Self. Therefore, with this teaching, will you be capable of loving? I End
The senses appear to be powerful; the mind appears to be powerful; and more powerful than this appears to be reason. But, superior to all this is the Supreme Self. When man recognizes in himself the Supreme Self it is possible to dominate the false powers and in this way subjugate the profane ego. I End
In the vastness of universal nature, for endless cycles, infinities of flowers are manifested, composed by harmony of forms and colors, and die soon after to be substituted by others. The marvels of nature are not born to be praised. They are not concerned with being seen. Their only reason of existing is to be, simply. This witness of pure consciousness is enough for the christic man who realizes with love and harmony the duty that must be done. And like the flowers, does not await flattery nor praises, nor fears censure. I End
Peace is not in wealth, in the apparently marvelous things. The beautiful things, from which men pretend to obtain their happiness, have a short, passing life and lead to suffering. As long as one does not find a path that leads to the Eternal, there can be no true happiness. It is possible that, for a certain period of time, the possession of some profane object can bring happiness, but its loss will bring unhappiness. I End
When one rubs a stick against another it will produce fire. And so it can be seen and used. In this way also the Light of the Divine Self is present in the heart of all living beings. When we follow the instructions that are donated by the Masters, the light of intuition arises and illuminates the path to be followed. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
Every man is gifted with the faculty to discern between his good or bad actions. Therefore, he is responsible for his destiny and must make the ideals of a life in communion with the Divine destroy everything that is of a negative nature. I End
Men will be in the natural state when they look to the rivers and feel that they are part of them, feel like the water that flows to the sea; when they look at the flowers of the fields and perceive in them more than the perfume and colors, perceive in them an ocean of peace, a door to consciously integrate with Truth. When they become conscious of the natural state, of the state without ego, they will be the same as the rivers, seas, flowers, birds: vast, complete as the universe and conscious of the Divine Self. When men return to the consciousness of the divine, they will know the real meaning of Supreme Love. I End
The man of good nature uses his fortune to enrich life; and the man of bad nature uses his life to achieve wealth. Those who lack the Supreme Wisdom ignore their divine origin and only know that which is transitory. Man is good and wealthy when he is born. It is great greed which makes him bad and poor. I End
The prayer in action is work. Surrender is the sacrifice to achieve love. And love in its essence leads to total detachment from the profane world. Charity denies egotism, in fact, and is similar to the fruit of compassion. I End
Supreme Love is the key to life. Its inflow animates the whole universe. He who lives only one feeling of Divine Love in all things, will find Perfect Joy. Love is the great gift in life and also is the greatest universal power, for it is essence itself, the reason of the being of existence. Love is the source, the origin. It also is the end. He who does not live in love, who does not know Supreme Love, lives in the night of unconsciousness. I End
Victory generates hatred; the defeated live in pain. The peacemakers, however, live happily, renouncing defeat and victory. Just as the water does not adhere to the mountain, hatred does not find refuge in men of good heart. There is no lost effort like in hatred; there is no pain like that of the physical body; there is no happiness outside of the state of Blessedness. I End
No one makes man suffer. He suffers because he wants to. The man who, even knowing he is wrong, insists on the mistake, is like the suicide that ties a stone to his neck and throws it into the river. All are free to make their own decisions, and only suffers he who is attached to suffering. I End
Open your heart, become conscious of the sacred teachings, and you will have Perfect Joy added onto you. Do not allow that which is impure live in you. We must be like the water, that is, mold ourselves, and always flow forward, serving all on our way. The river always appears to be the same, but the water that passes is different. This water is the Self. We are not always the same person, with the same problems. In reality we are the Divine Self, we are like the water that flows and constantly changes. I End Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
The power acquired in life by external efforts, no matter how great they appear at the moment, show themselves to be fatal, for a man with the intoxication of external power is contrary to the cultivation of the divine virtues in himself. He finds himself in the dependancy of the power that does not belong to him and one day becomes a victim of the very power he possesses. As long as man fights for power, there will always be disappointments, because he will only find limitation. I End
Humanity must be like a tree that grows and blooms in understanding and fraternal love as it takes on the Sacred Teachings, planting them in the heart of every man and applying them in daily life. In this image, each man would be like the leaves of a great tree, and on the face of the Earth there are no leaves so foolish as to fight among themselves. I End
Unselfish work brings purification of the heart. The simple life helps one to fully live the teachings of all the Masters. Every task, no matter how small, is important, for it is not the size of the task that makes a person free, but it is the attitude about the task that makes it dignified. Everything must be accepted gratefully. I End
The sages, saints, prophets and mystics of all times, in any part of the world, when they reached the domain of the Knowledge of the Divine, all agreed. It is in this Knowledge that the realization of the objective of life of the human being must be found. Humanity must understand that this planet is only a temporary school of evolution, and that during the short time of inhabitation, it must live in the highest of its possibilities. I End
Do not be proud of your abilities and talents and do not consider yourself better or worse than anyone. He who lives in simplicity remains in continuous peace; however, in the heart of proud reigns envy, passion and anger. Live in the company of the simple and meek of heart, of those who follow the law of the Perfect Community. Blessed is he who can be free of spiritual ignorance. I End
All beings, without exception, are the same Divine Essence, and so must not compete among themselves, but rather adapt and cooperate with one another, like the cells of a healthy body. To be conscious of this unity brings the internal peace of which the sages speak, the deep serenity, the perfect joy. And all that is needed is that man remains faithful to his own spiritual nature. I End
Be ever vigilant and do not bear false witness. Be careful of what you say, for this can turn against you. Follow the teaching of Jesus: "Pray for he who persecutes you. If anyone criticizes you, pray for him". If you do not pray for your enemy, he will certainly not correct himself and you may remain with his evil. A person must help another. It is wiser to help him when he has problems than to criticize him. I End
Perfect joy will not visit us tomorrow, unless our hearts repose in it today. There is no future peace that is not hidden in the present fleeting moment. Sometimes, one feels that joy is being obscured by the world itself. But sadness is nothing more than a dark cloud. Behind it, within our reach, is perfect joy. We can live it if we learn how to feel and know the Supreme Self. And for this it is necessary to remain in silence, to meditate and devote. I End
He who is only concerned with feeding the body, forgetting that this is only an instrument for consciousness of the divine, does not free himself from spiritual ignorance. The fascination for the body and its powers constitute the greatest danger for he who seeks the identification with the Supreme Truth. Body, mind and senses serve as the means of spiritual evolution. They are perishable things and are not the real essence of man. The body can be destroyed, however the Self which inhabited it remains after destruction. I End
Truth is beautiful. Truth is like a circle. Imagine a rainbow, a luminous half circle, where the seven apparently distinct colors shine together in harmony. It represents that communion is possible and from it comes beauty, and reminds us also that we must complete the circle of the rainbow in our lives, living in harmony with the Earth, in syntony with the laws of nature and in peace with all the beings that surround us. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
Never swear by anything, not even heaven, nor earth, nor the divine, nor your heads, nor your feet, nor your hearts. Be just natural, for everything you say remains engraved in the endless cycles to come. Do not wait for miracles. Do not seek great demonstrations of powers. Only those of little faith need to see to believe. Happy are those who have faith without seeing anything, for they follow what pure intuition indicates, and not what the physical eyes see with their limited scope. I End
That which is promised must be fulfilled. Be faithful in your commitments, both with the just and the unjust; with the weak and disinherited as with the strong and powerful. Never condemn anything that lives on the ground or in the skies. Do not express harsh words to anyone. I End
Remember that not a leaf falls from a tree nor a hair from your heads that is not by the Divine Will. That is why I affirm that the divine essence which feeds the birds and all that lives is the same that is reflected in the human beings. It will never abandon you if you have the self-assuredness and certainty that there is no separation between us and this essence. I End
You will not be judged by what you know or believe, but by your acts you will be judged. It is not enough to know the Supreme Teachings or believe in them, it is necessary to practice them. It is necessary to really love one another, recognizing the Divine in each one. I End
Walk unconcerned about other's deficiency. Remember that it is in observing your own deficiencies that you will be free from imperfections. Men's own weaknesses lead them to judge one another. Men will be answered. Knock, and the supreme gate will be opened. Learn to feel the divine law and divulge the Sacred Teachings throughout the universe. Love one another because you all are One in essence. Do onto others as you wish they would do onto you. Lead men to the path of Truth. I End
Never envy the places of honor. The first will be the last and the last will be the first. He who wants to be exalted will be humiliated. Only the pure of heart, the meek and compassionate will know the Supreme Truth. Once having reached the Truth, you will never again be contaminated by unconsciousness. Truth will free you making you feel that you are the Divine Self. I End
One must develop true love in the heart. Purify your hearts so that the force of the Blessed Self will inhabit it. Do not occupy the heart with the impurities of the world, but rather leave a spacious place for the divine and majestic radiance of the Self. The heart of man is filled with vehement desires and his greed increases at every moment. Where, then, is the place for the Self to repose? I End
All will be transformed, however the sacred teachings will not suffer transformation. You must remain in the Supreme Self. Walk within its Laws. Ask and you will be given all the conditions to return to divine consciousness. The Divine Force has no end and its love is eternal and present. I End Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
The power of man on Earth is illusory and of short duration, but divine justice is eternal. The consciousness of the divine grows like yeast in bread in the heart of men to give splendor to this justice. In truth, there is no greater good than supreme peace, there is no greater gift than universal love and there are no greater wealth than the conscious union with the Self which we are. Those who insist on gaining the values that are today and do not exist tomorrow, live illuded and one day will have to awaken to reality. I End
It is necessary to silence the physical body, the thinking mind and the senses. One must not expect the outside world to be silent, but rather, first silence the inner world. Do not look to the illusory past, but fix yourselves only on the eternal present. Walk unconcerned about other's deficiencies. Remember that it is in annihilating one's own deficiencies that man will free himself from imperfections. Men's own weaknesses drag them to judge one another. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
Like the laborer that prepares the ground for seeding, fulfill your duty and, with sublime devotion, plant the Supreme Truth and harvest the sacred fruit of divine consciousness. Never allow any intrigue out of your mouth, for everything you say, consciously or unconsciously, is measured and weighed. There is no way to miss. Right action arises as the most natural thing to be done, without discussions, without conflicts, without thoughts. I End
The world is fine just as it is. It is men in it who are guilty of the situation of chaos and disharmony in which they find themselves. This has been provoked by the distortions of the Universal Laws and by the way of thinking, always acting through the ego. What one must do is seek the cause of suffering, which is the thinking mind, and control it. Then everything will be seen and felt clearly, without distortions. This is the only salvation for humanity today. I End
Tame your egos as you would tame a ferocious beast. Free yourself from the prison, meditate, devote and transform yourself into purity. You are the Self. Be great. Don't do as the majority of men who insist on looking at the negative side of things. Learn with the Sun: at any angle that you look at it, you will only see light. Shine with infinite splendour. I End
The wealth of the generous never exhaust, while he who denies help cannot find anyone to comfort him. The man who lives storing up food while the needy ask for food will end up begging for bread to eat, and will not find anyone to comfort him. I End
Every act of compassion cleans the heart from the morbidity of hatred and teaches man to console his fellow. Blessed is he who preaches to his fellows and acts according to what he preaches. In this way, he behaves like a sage, revitalizing humanity. I End
He who watches what his mouth says guards himself from all evil. But he who opens his lips without control has disturbance. Good conduct is one of the causes of happiness, for it facilitates the practice of charity, of moral purity and prepares us to serve together with the Masters in the great duty towards our fellows. Learn with the birds: consider their songs as messages of the Divine Self and absorb their happiness. Simplicity is the key-note in the devotion of the birds. Therefore, choose simple things and be simple. I End
I End 45 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not know envy, nor does evil, nor knows pride. Love is not harsh nor egotistic. It is slow to anger, does not imagine wickedness, does not enjoy injustice but rather delights in justice. Love defends everything, love believes in everything, love hopes in everything, love conquers everything, it is never exhausted. Languages die and knowledge fades, but love continues eternally.
When a person judges himself to be the least of all, trying in this way to show humility, he is not sincere with himself, because this person is possessed by the profane ego and it is false humility which acts through him. Such pretention of sanctity always reveals to be great vanity. True humility consists in being conscious of the Divine, which is the absence of every grotesque expression. I End
Impatience is the lack of discerning what occurs in the eternal present. We must love and respect all beings. Respect is the gratitude towards all people. We must be happy and accept the experiences of life good naturedly. He who has discernment, who has liberated himself from egotism, who gained tranquility and other virtues like patience, silence and assurance, is able to feel Supreme Peace. I End
We must always be frank and conscious of our limitations. Honest ignorance is always better than dishonest pretention. We must consider that we are not an entity separated from the Universe, but we are part of the Universal Cosmic Consciousness. I End
To be free is not to live in the forest, on the mountain, together with nature, thinking that by the simple fact of seeking liberation in external nature we will find peace. Nature is a reflection of Creation. Only when we are syntonized with the Creator we will manage to see the Divine manifested in every particle of Creation. I End
For he who clings to material riches, it would be far better to throw them away than to be poisoned by them. He who does not attach himself to riches and, possessing them, uses them correctly, will be of great help to his fellows. It is not life, nor riches, nor power that enslave a man, but rather the desire for life, riches and power. I End
Wise is he who executes his task without being attached to the fruits of his actions. He does not nourish ideas of victory nor defeat and is always in peace, ready to act at the right moment, according to the determination of the Divine Laws. He produces without owning anything, for he has the virtue of detachment and has Supreme Love as his base. I End
The paths of wisdom are paths of discernment and all of its Truths are of peace and consciousness. Wisdom as an inheritance is a good thing and is beneficial for those who see the Sun. It is like a shelter in the storm, like a compass to the navigator. Wisdom preserves the life of its possessor. I End
All discrimination will be banished from the face of the Earth, because woman is equal to man, and both are divine in essence. All are equal before the Divine Consciousness: the servant has the same worth as the lord. The compassionate will be elevated, the meek of heart will achieve peace. This wisdom is what rules the harmony of the cosmos and directs karma. It also sends a word of peace amidst all humiliations, sufferings and all tortures of the world of the unconscious. I End Sutra Maha Devi
In the hour of vengeance, love. In the hour of sadness, smile. In the hour of screaming, be silent. In the hour of living, be born to eternal life. In the hour of fear, be brave. In the hour of uncertainty, use self-assurance. In the hour of attachments, give. In the hour of giving, be detached. I End Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
Actions, good and bad, harass the man who practices them, like shadows. Being impossible to escape the result of works, let man practice, then, good actions. He who follows the Supreme Law, having abandoned passion, hatred, foolishness, and not being concerned with anything in this world, possesses true understanding and serenity. I End
A word said in anger is the sharpest sword; greed is the most mortal poison that exists; passion is the most violent fire; ignorance is the darkest night. If a man seeks faults in others and is always inclined to take offense, his passions will grow and he is far from the destruction of suffering. He who adopts the Supreme Law is just, and not he who only supplicates. I End
If a man acts as he teaches others to act, then, being perfect himself, he can lead others to perfection, for all are divine in essence. The motive of actions must always be the fulfilment of the Divine Duty. Works must be done without seeking reward, without concern with success or failure, with gain or personal loss. I End
If all men worked naturally, there would never be disharmonies and one would never hear of wars or rumors of wars. Peace comes from the willingness to work, for through it man acquires wisdom, discernment and is impelled to seek the Divine in himself. Work is a natural process of self-liberation, helping man to live in pure consciousness, universal love and perfect joy. I End
It is better to accomplish your own task, no matter how humble, than to want to do the task of another, no matter how noble it appears to be. Only he has merit who, having freed himself from all cares, fear, egotism and personal aspirations, disinterestedly surrenders to action. Let no one reject his natural duty; let him remain unattached from any type of result; let him keep his mind totally submissive to the Supreme Will and keep all worry distant. I End
Only love brings peace, joy and eternity. Even though someone speaks beautiful words, if he has no love he is like a drum that sounds, or a plate that makes noise. Even if he predicts tomorrow, knows all its secrets, has all the wisdom and his self-assurance is as strong as a storm that revolves around the Earth, if he has no love, he is nothing. And even if he gives all his possessions to feed the poor, if he has no love he will not benefit in any way. I End
Control of the body is good; control of the mind is good; control of all the senses is good; control of the word is good. A man controlled in everything is free from suffering. He who is tranquil, he who is unconcerned about what he does not have, who calms his mind, his senses and emotions lives in a virtuous manner. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
Only follow the path of light and blow away the clouds that still whirl in the mind, ceaselessly. You will finally gaze on the new horizon, see beyond the physical body, the thinking mind and the senses, and feel the Absolute Self, the Supreme Force that is reflected in the heart of all beings. I End Sri Maha Krishna Swamy
Man must conquer anger through Universal Love; conquer evil with good; conquer greed with detachment. There is no fire like anger, no fraud like evil, no torrent like avarice, no snare like depravity. I End
One cannot extract clean water from a well in which garbage and mud are thrown constantly; the waters of a lake cannot be calm and serene if they are constantly agitated; man cannot have rest if his interior is restless; man cannot want love if his interior is filled with hatred and resentment; man cannot want life if his interior is constantly waiting for death. I End
Work is a dynamic force that flows from the Eternal Creator. It helps a man to maintain balance, overcome the states of discouragement, weakness and idleness. Man is unhappy when he refuses to work. I End
Men should be like the waters that have the virtue of being useful to thousands of creatures. Have you seen how they are beneficial? They adapt, shape and open their own way, flow naturally giving life, unconcerned about the results or fruits. Be like the water. Let the supreme virtues bloom. Spring like the fountains, from within outwards, give of yourself like them, to benefit the world. The learned know nothing nor have intuition about the virtues because they are unconscious of this natural process of being. I End
Love is stronger than hatred. Hatred can always be vanquished by Love, simply because Love is Supreme, Eternal and Present. Hatred is temporary and perishes together with he who allies himself to it. Man must never oppose hatred with hatred, because the flame that already exists will only grow more intense and, increasing with hatred, the flame will only be intensified. Nothing is gained by this. On the contrary, all is lost. But when one gives Love for hatred, the negative sentiment is neutralized. One must always be opposed to petulance, using mildness and neutrality. A kind hand can calm the most ferocious animal. I End
Man must love the Earth and all its sons. When love is the only balance of his accounts on Earth, it will cancel his debt, for love is the only thing that liberates. When one truly loves everything, one is tied to nothing. I End
To speak little is to be natural. It is the characteristic of those who obey the spontaneity of their nature. Speaking much is a quality of those who say a lot and mean little. The sage speaks sparingly. Instead, he acts. But the action of the sage many times is not measured in terms of physical action, on levels where the multitude expects. I End
When a man decides to live according to the divine virtues, he bears with happiness the apparent tribulations that appear. He lives in humility every day, without being involved with anything, and loves all creatures, without exception. The thinking mind becomes calm before the virtue of humility, patience, purity of heart. I End
The desire for things that we do not have brings suffering. The richest person is he who is satisfied with what he has. The greatest part of our suffering comes from the inability to be mentally or emotionally detached from the objects of the senses. All disharmony that exists in the world is caused by the lack of perception of what the harmony of the Supreme Manifestation offers us. I End
Everyone who wants a savior must seek him within himself. There is no savior outside of one's self. For the divine there is no within or out, but it is reflected, in the vehicles of consciousness, in the right side of the chest. I End
Free yourself. Keep clear of the mirage, the illusion. Neutralize the false characters. Raise the sword of Divine Will. Make the Light of Supreme Truth emerge. Clean your dwelling. Shake out the dust of illusion. Calm the thinking mind, the senses, the sensations, and, in silent meditation, without the noise of thoughts, you will be one with the Divine Self. I End Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
He who only grumbles against destiny will never free himself from unconsciousness, from spiritual ignorance. He who is attached to pain and complains against destiny weakens himself. There is no wisdom in attachment to pain. I End
Who said you could hate? No one has the right to hate even the most insignificant of the creatures that fly in the sky, nor those that live on the ground or in the water. To love yourself, to conciliate yourself with the enemy and to become conscious of the Divine Self is your greatest duty. Remember that you must love, help all without exception and see in them the full manifestation of the Divine Essence. Also remember that the credit of helping is not yours. It is the Divine Essence that gives you the power to help, for this Divine Essence is what eternally acts in the vehicles of manifestation. I End
Sow peace and pull out the bad weed. Remember that what was sown here will be harvested in another place. Abandon the mundane possessions, for those who are attached to objects will not find the Truth. I End
Do you like to pray? Pray, then. But do not be concerned in reciting pretty words, for these can make you forget faith, self-confidence, which is the principal ingredient in every prayer. When you pray, do not speak. Let the Supreme Self speak, through pure intuition, in the physical vehicle. Calm the thinking mind, the dense body and the senses and you can hear the eloquence of Divine Silence. Open your heart, let it pray. I End
A man is not fair if he resolves a matter by violence. He who distinguishes between right and wrong, not by violence but by the Only Law, is called just. Hatred does not cease by hatred. It ceases through Universal Love. I End
Today I tried to learn who your enemy was and I discovered that it was you! Examine yourself and correct your faults everyday. If you do not fulfill your duties you will be insincere with the Wisdom that lives in you. Study your acts from every angle, in this way you will be capable of discovering the source of the flaw. I End
Do all the good you can and avoid all the bad. Lead men on the search for Truth. As an edification of your lives, renounce the fruits of the action practiced. You must be interested only in the action and never in the results. These belong to each one who is benefited from your action. Let the fruit of action not be your motive, nor inaction be your detachment. I End
Every one who makes a mistake knows he is missing. Pure intuition, the Self which he is, advises him at the moment he will practice the action. There is no one who has no consciousness of his actions. This is the great aid one has to purify actions and hearts. By hearing pure intuition there is no way to miss. I End Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
Sri Maka Krishna Swamy reveals to everyone the path to self-knowledge and proposes us the ancient enigma of humankind: who are we? To know Sri Maha Krishna Swamy it is necessary to come to his teachings with open heart and ready to receive plenty, for he gives in abundance the wisdom that comes from the full consciousness of the Supreme Self. The writer of Words Of Wisdom is the author of a vast literary production translated to many languages. So varied and rich is his style that we are not sure whether Maha Krishna takes us or elevates us to ourselves; whether he convinces us or comforts us with his harmony; whether he cradles us or helps us with his peace that spreads throughout the universe, until its furthest corners. I End Sutra Maha Devi and Sri Maha Krishna Swamy are dedicated to teaching Maha Yoga, which is a technique for self-kowledge accessible to everyone. Maha Yoga does not merely seek to solve the small troubles of our daily life, but rather remove the cause of all sufferings, which is the fact of we being unconscious of our Divine Essence. The practice of Maha Yoga does not require that we put aside our duties with job, family or any other daily task.
In truth, I come from Light. Rejoice. These days all creatures will need Light, for the powers of the skies will be shaken. There is a silent voice, eternal and present, which the profane ego does not want to accept. We all now must meditate, because the single objective is to become conscious of the Universal Self. I now need subtle disciples, for the Supreme Meditation made me Light. Sri Maha Krishna Swamy I Exit
