Slide 1

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Slide 2

Preliminary task In comparison to my music magazine, I think my preliminary task is very basic. It has a plain colour scheme compared to my music magazine, which is a simple house style however it looks professionally, where as my school magazine is uninteresting and unprofessional.

Slide 3

Music magazine As you can see, my music magazine is a lot more professional than my school magazine. I have learnt not to make my text as big since looking at other magazines currently on the market. I have also learnt about the style of magazines. I did not have a style model for my school magazine, this may be why it is so dull and uninteresting. However, I followed the conventions of Q for my music magazine meaning I had a set style. I believe my music magazine is better than my preliminary task as I have more knowledge now than I did when I started my preliminary task. I have learnt how to use Photoshop properly and effectively; how to use a digital camera so that my images are of high quality and not blurred. I have also learnt to add a barcode to my magazine, as this is a vital part of current magazines on the market. In my opinion, I think my music magazine is of better quality than my preliminary task, as my front cover is eye-catching and could easier attract a reader to buy my magazine. Where as my preliminary task is dull and boring, with a very plain colour scheme. The reason my music magazine is a lot better than my preliminary task is because I have more knowledge now than when I originally started my Media course.
