FLU SEASON Flu season is a time of year when people begin to get the flu virus in their system. Once one person gets the flu virus, it is easily transmitted.

8 FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS Influenza symptoms include things like fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, dry cough, runny nose and soar throat.

9 TREATMENT COMPARISON In the 1860’s the Influenza was treated much differently then it is today. In the 1860’s they had quarantines and patients drank alcohol. Now patients are given medicine that works and is effective. 10

12 Homemade medicines vs flu shot Back in the mid-1800’s they tried to make homemade type of medicine to stop the influenza. Thank god later doctors made the flue shot that is a vaccination for the flu 12

14 LASTING EFFECTS The lasting effects of the flu are numerous. Some of them are vital pneumonia, bronchitis, post infectious cough, ear infections, and extending weakness.

15 Societies opinion Back in the 1860’s people that had the flue were often avoided and when around them they would have to be very cautious. Now when someone gets the flu they are usually given a break from your job or schooling to recover. 15
