Synopsis Of The Lion King The tale starts with the animals of the grasslands gathering to be introduced to the new prince of the lions, named Simba. Simba’s scheming uncle Scar piques the cub's curiosity by mentioning the graveyard of the elephants, a forbidden place to. Scar plots to kill Sima’s father, then convinces Simba that it was his fault that his father died. Scar tells Simba that he must run away. Simba runs to the desert, where he comes across Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog. Simba takes up with Timon and Pumbaa, and grows into a carefree lion. Later, he saves Timon from a young lioness that he recognizes his childhood friend Nala. She asks him to return to the pridelands and challenge Scar and take his rightful place as king of the lions.
