Role of item master In Shoper 9, item master: Is one of the catalogues Contains all the details related to each SKU defined for the business

Prerequisites Before starting with item master creation, you need to make certain entries in the following catalogues: General Lookup: Related lookup information on items under respective categories, for example, Product and Brand Vendor: Related vendor details Tax: Related sales tax structure applicable for different category of items Item Classification: Required classification of items by specifying the Product and Brand combination

Prerequisites The configuration of the following system parameters have an impact on item master creation: User Assigned Stock Number under the category Item Classification: To decide whether the stock numbers are user assigned or system generated Image ID Applicable in Item Master under the category Item Master: To associate items with images Shoper Image FilePath under the category Item Master: To specify the path where the images are stored

Procedure Steps to create item master: Select the option Item Master from Shoper 9 (HO/POS) menu Select the Add option from the Item Master Entry window Each Tab wise explanation of Item Master Entry window is given in the following slides. Note: In the case of Chain Stores, the Head Office creates the item master and then distributes it to the entire chain.

View Tab There are two data entry formats available for capturing the item details: Classic View: To accept details of a single item Grid View: To accept details of one or multiple items

Common Fields Tab Common Fields: Select the fields you want to treat as common fields Common Field Data: Enter data for the common fields Save Common Field Data: To save the common data you have entered

Item details Tab Item details grid with item details displayed. Note: The display of the item details grid varies according to the Classic View or Grid View. No. of columns to be frozen: Enter the number of columns at the left end to be visible in the grid. Value can be between zero and six.

Item details Tab From the Item details Tab: Press F1: To display the list of shortcut keys used for Item master entry Press F2 on fields: To select any field value from the Select Codes window Notes: If the item details are available in MS-Excel sheet, with the same order of the fields, then the entire data can be copied and pasted into the Item details grid. 2. Item master can also be created by Import option and PT file loading.

Item Master Editing/ Deleting Select the Edit option from the Item Master Entry window. There are only two Tabs; View and Item Details for edit. Functionality of View Tab is same as in Add option. You can make the required modifications in the Edit mode. In the Item details Tab, you can apply Data Filter (No Filter and Apply Filter) and Replace Data. Delete option helps to delete any unwanted item details, provided the same is not used in any of the transactions.
