Background Born February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio Died October 18, 1931 (aged 84) in West Orange, New Jersey Parents are, Samuel Ogden Edison, Jr. (1804–1896) and Nancy Matthews Elliott (1810–1871) Famous for the Edison Light bulb Mary Stillwell was Edison’s first wife. She died in 1884. They had three children. He married Mina Miller in 1886 and had three more children. Did very poorly in school; teachers believed that he was stupid and had learning disability so his mother decided to home school him
