COMPARATIVO DE SUPERIORIDADE Quando o adjetivo é pequeno acrescentamos er (no final do adj) + than (depois do adj). Jane is old. (Maria é velha.) Jane is older than me. (Maria é mais velha do que eu)

Quando o adjetivo é longo acrescentamos more (antes do adjetivo) + than (depois do adjetivo). Mark is intelligent. Mark is more intelligent than me.

REGRAS Adjetivos precedidos de CVC (Consoante – Vogal – Consoante), dobra-se a última letra: big – bigger than / fat – fatter than Adjetivos terminados em Y precedidos por consoantes são substituídos por “i”: pretty – prettier than / friendly – friendlier than Exceções: good - better / bad – worse. Adjetivos terminados em “e” acrescenta-se “r”: nice – nicer than

  Comparativo de Igualdade É formado com as ...... as: Afirmativo: Jenny is tall. Jenny is as tall as Paul. Negativo: Jenny is not tall. Jenny is not as tall as Paul.

Comparativo de inferioridade Usamos less (antes do adj) + than (depois do adj): I spent less money than you (Eu gastei menos dinheiro do que você.)

Superlativo Para os adjetivos curtos, acrescenta-se est (depois do adj): Susy is the shortest girl in the classroom. (Susy é a garota mais baixa da classe.) This supermarket is the biggest one. (Este supermercado é o maior.)

Para os adjetivos longos, acrescenta-se the most (antes do adj): This is the most expensive bike of them all. (Esta é a bicicleta mais cara de todas.) O grau superlativo segue as mesmas regras de formação do comparativo para acrescentar “est” e as exceções são: good – best / bad – worst.
