Remove any harnesses or collars before beginning the grooming process. Begin by brushing your dog to get rid of dead hair and tangles. Be sure you are using the right brush for the breed of dog you are grooming. Pay special attention to places like the tail and feet. Brushing

Begin by making your dog as comfortable as possible. Use proper clippers for your dog. Gently clip small sections off until you reach the quick. If you cut too far you must stop the bleeding with gauze or a clotting product. Nail care

Place your dog on a secure surface in your tub or wash basin. Gently place cotton balls in your dogs ears if it is prone to ear infections. Check the temperature of the water to make sure it is not too hot or cold. Thoroughly wet your dog while making sure to comfort them if they are nervous. bathing

Start at your dogs neck and gently shampoo your way down to the tail. Don’t forget the feet! Rinse your dogs fur thoroughly making sure to avoid eyes and ears. If desired you can repeat the process of shampooing. Lather, rinse, repeat

Gently towel off your dog paying special attention to the stomach and feet. If your dog has long fur, a shop vac with the hose turned makes a great blow dryer.(Use only if dogs are comfortable) Use brush to style fur any way you like. Dry & Style
