From time to time quite a few people end up feeling overwhelmed, overstressed or overworked, which can cause them to stop and think, "I should change my life". For quite a few of us this is quite a common occurrence. A big problem is, however, we quite often get to the stage that we think we should have a change but rarely do we make those necessary changes. That's because it isn't easy to change. There are numerous reasons that may make you think, "I need to change my life". One of the most common complaints is a job. We often get stuck working in jobs where we are unhappy and feel overworked or underappreciated. Another reason that is quite common for feeling you need a change is a poor relationship. Relationships mostly start out terrific, but can on occasion start to slowly degrade into something that is not healthy for either party. When this occurs, a change is needed. A third major cause for feeling you need to change is wanting to alter something internal, like your body or your personality. These desires come about if we are just distressed with some aspect of ourselves, may it be weight, social behaviors, or drug or alcohol use.

All of these are valid reasons for feeling that you require to change your life. Unfortunately, no matter how you look at it, there will invariably be obstacles in your path that make these changes hard. Changing your job can present financial difficulties if you face the potentiality of being out of work for some time. Changing your current relationship can be hard as you don't want to hurt the other persons feelings or be single. As you try to change things within yourself you may face some opposition from your family and friends, on top of struggles with your willpower and commitment

All of these changes can be accomplished, however, with the right perspective. A good way to start devising any change is to write out the goal and put it in a place where you can read it on a daily basis. This serves as a commitment to yourself and a reminder that you have decided on a new direction. Also it can be a good idea to seek the help of supportive family, friends, you can also seek out support groups. Having a team in your box cheering you on can make everything easier for you and will help stick to your goals. Having a daily visualization session, where you image your goals and what it will be like when you achieve them, can help you really focus on your success. Documenting your progress, just on a calendar or maybe in the form of a journal, can help you stay motivated, even in times you lack motivation.

When the decision is made to change your lifestyle, you'll face many obstacles. Some of them may even come from unexpected places, like those closest to you. The whole objective in effective positive change, is to make that solid decision and really stick to it.
