Using Google Search to Discover Keywords ePublicist - eMarketing for Dummies Exploiting the Google Organic Search Engine to provide raw material for further keyword research
Google Search Options Open a Google Search window and enter a word or phrase which describes your site or its contents On the top left hand side of the screen click on the "Show Options" link
Google Search Views Near the bottom of the View options click on “Related searches" Google will open up a new Search Results page with an entire list of "related search terms" across the top
Explore Related Terms By clicking on one of the "related search terms" you'll receive a new Search Results page displaying the results of your original term + the selected term If you want to see a search specifically focused on the "related search term" simply click on the "more" link beside it
Google Wonder Wheel In the View Options click on Wonder Wheel Google will now open up a graphic view of the relationship between the various Search Terms By clicking on a spoke you'll open up a whole new related wheel discovering new associated terms
Google Timeline Finally by choosing Timeline from the View Options Google will provide you with a graph indicating when your Search Terms were most widely used By clicking on a particular time period, Google will provide Search Results for a narrower period of time
Google Organic Search In Summary, using Google's Organic Search Engine we can: Identify terms commonly used by Internet users Discover terms Google's Engine believes to be associated Explore additional terms and visually see their relationship Explore when various search terms were more widely used and when they were no longer in use
